Thread title:
in the name of justice!
that's crazy.  i haven't watched the old straight up speed run (just scarlet's 2-boss run) but already that time is amazing.  though, not too surprising, the emu-raped run is like 16 or 17 something, right?
red chamber dream
Wow. Hope this gets finished sometime soon.

18:38 - wow. I've been playing a lot these past few weeks and my best time was 19:13. I was going to submit a run to Twin Galaxies, but I may wait it out and see how this guy progresses.
It's up... I took the liberty of adding the link to yoshi's post instead of making a new thread.
everybody knows it's true
First run in a... year. Wow.
直死の魔眼使い
I'm SO downloading this after I finish watching Trigun -- this'll serve as a nice inauguration starting item to test my new DVD burner with, together with several other speedruns. :D
I('d) like to watch (some MP3 runs)
Neat.  There goes being suitless for individuality. Wink

I really liked the lava room and getting up the pillar in Hideout 1, though, really nice.

Question Some people like privacy, but that's kind of an insulting way to give it to them.
Some people like names so their site looks professional, and it's insulting when you don't give one.

After all, since my name has been on the internet for 8.5 years, everyone in the world must know everything about me such as what I eat every meal, the exact moment I get out of bed, what I'm wearing right now (i'll give you that one: my underwear), who I have sex with and when I take a shit.

Yep, better be afraid for your privacy.
it's a little bit different for a girl. probably shouldn't be the case, but it is.

What Nate said.
in the name of justice!
If I submit a speed run and say my name is "John Hoopes" or something instead of "Greg Mah" I don't know that anybody would know the difference (well, they would now...).  I can certainly see why Radix wants people's names.  Still, I don't know how professional "Anonymous Coward-ess" looks...
cue radix saying 'why can't everyone think of that!!'

I quite liked Spider Waffle's run, though there are definitely a few time-saving tricks that he missed. For instance, there is a slightly faster way to ascend the bricks after defeating Kraid that obviates the "non-disappearing brick" phenomenon. Also, SW didn't do all that great at Mother Brain, at least energy-wise.

I'm sorry, but "anonymous-cowardess" is insulting, as is *expecting* someone to reveal their real name when they've already given you their movie(s). Furthermore, real names don't make websites look professional; professional web designers make websites look professional.

professional web designers make websites look professional.

What bull.
Do you mean the "professional" sites that are filled with so many tables, different fonts, ads, links to other sites, articles etc that you have a hard time finding the content? That the page takes forever to load? To render? To scroll? Not everyone has a 3 ghz computer for such sites.

Here's a good example. It's about guy who watched 69 hours of tv to set a world record for the Guinness Book of World Records. If you look closely at the story, you might be able to find that they list his name... Suresh Joachim. Oh no, the guy's name is on the internet, his privacy is surely violated now!!!!!

Do you think the Associated Press would have given a crap about this guy if he refused to give a name? I'm sure Guinness would have laughed in his face.

This is my final post on the matter as it's pretty off topic.

Congrats to Blake on running such a difficult game.
in the name of justice!
Yeah, a high-tech website is frequently the opposite of a good website.

I think it's time to kill this discussion though, lest it appear in EVERY new SR thread.

It's a nice run, to be sure.  I like it.

Last I checked, smokey and I weren't submitting to Guiness.  Nowhere did your site say that real names must be used, and to proactively put that is pretty insulting towards both he and I (and anyone else that has that as their names now).

Surely your site got some noteriety (I recall that EGM disc thing) from them, and to go back and do that is really disrespectful and petty.

It is different for some people, like Nate said.  I don't feel like getting bugged by weirdos. I don't feel as safe using my real name than using my monniker. Surely using "anonymous coward/ess" is less professional than an online nickname. And immature. A year ago you didn't care, but now that your site is 'big', it is unprofessional.

I edited my earlier post, but now I'm just going to leave it here.  If you're intent with keeping "anonymous cowardess" up there, then I'd humbly request that you remove my videos from SDA.

0:18:35 is amazing. That has gotta be a world record. I never time my NES Metroid runs though, so I dunno what time I get. But I'll start timing myself now and see how I measure up.
