Congrats with this. Thats damn awesome. Im not even ask did you try redo that one more minutes? I think this very low 59 minutes. Couple seconds off its wil be 58 minutes. But hell yeah who care, sub hour is always sub hour and damn sub hour SS im not never thinking this will even possible.

I still remember when Kip's 1:04 was the record... Feels like a lifetime ago, doesn't it?
It might only be a five minute difference after all of these years, and when you take into account all of the other runs that have happened since then that have trickled the best time closer to an hour it might not seem like much of a change compared to the last. But even if it's only a minute faster than the last run it's still the most important drop so far, and it's SS on top of that! I'm definitely going to watch this later. Awesome work, Miles!

How much faster this new route are compared Kip & Zoid route? I think it is somewhere over 2 minutes? Though this new route are much harder IMO. Yeah SS category make this time so awesome. Somereason my flash player doesn´t work well a today and its stuck so much i can,t watch and enjoy this run yet. I´ll watch this later when my shit internet connection playing well enought.
Are you Miles ever played 22% SS runs? I think 21% SS is way too hard to beat and all speedrun settings are out of sight here. 22% hard SS NTSC might be awesome progress when you got bored other categories. I think these wave pirate battles could be skipped here used new trick climb up electron gap. Maybe this make 22% hard mode SS very possible to beat because these wave pirates and last boss are maybe biggest run killers.
I am always loved low-% SS runs. Stefan & Smilingjack runs are one my favorited entire game. But nobody never are making it on hard mode even on NTSC version its are way too hard.

I finally watched this. I have to say awesome run. There is still many mistakes and much potential make 58 minutes single segment run. Did you estimate how much over 59 minutes this is? I think this is very low 59 minutes.
Luck with Prime was awesome. Its will be so painful make it done any better. Thats look like prime like a lot use ice & plasma faces.

Since Miles is shooting for 0:53 in the segmented run, that would be 10 minutes saved from Zoid's run. I think that about half of that comes from the new route (ibbf, mines without spider, ice spreader etc) and half comes from general better play. That's just a really rough estimate though.

the route before spider skip was only like a minute faster iirc, so its about 2.20ish minutes faster than the inbounds route.
Also Miles, how were the splits in this run? the 1:00 lost about 2 minutes towards to end so I'm guessing that 0:58 shouldn't be that hard for you, but I'm wondering how likely it will be that we'll be seeing a 0:57 or lower soon

I think this run is still worth submission because its huge improvement over Sparky segmented run 2 minutes & Zoid SS 7 minutes. SDA is really retared right now. LOL
It's not worth submitting. While it's a great accomplishment, I know that miles can do much better than 0:59. There were a few ugly mistakes, and I'm very confident that miles can hit 0:57 soon enough.
And SDA isn't quite that bad. On the plus side, they (finally) universally accept RTA categories (aka with resets). About time. The verification though...

SDA definitely accept this.
But yeah i know Miles could be faster. But i don,t think this happen soon. He make really much job with this. You can,t even imagine how hard this game is. Mistakes are nearly impossible avoid on SS category. Even segmented its so hard.
I know because i am speedrunning Prime a lot. Several years i never can beat game stanard like Miles, even segmented it.
Even Miles make mistakes but luck manipulation against last boss was superb. Thats most important. But hell yeah i´ll hope he will keep progress this. High 57 minutes might just awesome final goal. Nobody else can,t beat it.
