Post preview:Played some MM9. I did pretty well up to Wily's Castle, and just shut off the console when I had to face the Twin Devil. Totally forgot that annoying boss and really didn't want to bother with it (didn't have any weapon refill tanks and zero B. Bomb energy).
At least I managed to do Sheep Man's stage in less than 3 minutes. Could have gotten about 2:35 if I had actually practiced the boss.
Dunno. From the bit I've played I'd say the original Devil is easier than this one. The time to react to the upper lower (second from down) tile in the remake is too short I think.

And I thought I'd be having too stuff much to play through ... good thing Mega Man games are rather short.
Post preview:The Yellow Devil in Rockman Rockman must be the hardest of them all. Can't believe they fucked him up by making the space between his reformation TOO NARROW despite WIDESCREEN.
Well, fuck this. I'm going to collect those Construcation Packs before continuing on with Wily's Castle.
Post preview:Any plans to make the new icon bar atop the post field optional? I use neither of those web services, so it's rather annoying to have this bar.
Post preview:The heckj's wrong with ALTTP's rupee making system? I haven't even entered the secnond dungeon and am at 926 rupees already! That's worse than any other Zelda, as far as I can tell.
Post preview:I'm almost done with MM10 on Normal, just need to beat Wily's Castle. Did a quick run on Easy with Protoman as well. Easy is kinda lol when you're not new to the series, makes me wonder why it does count for challenges. Would have liked to see Protoman having his an own separate storyline. Having a butchered mode of Mega Mans game kinda only makes him look like a bonus character again.
The game's actually surprisingly hard. Dunno why people call it easier than MM9.
Post preview:You guys heard of the Sonic Classic Collection for the DS? It's pretty much Sonic Genesis 1-3 & Knuckles portable, which would be awesome if done right. They fucked up, though. The screen is vertically squitched and there are some slow downs here and there. Pretty lame I think.
Also, they credited the creator of the jenesisDS emulator, so they pretty much took that thing and did a bad edit on it. What the fuck?
Post preview:Beat Sheep Man. Robot Master's got a nice stage, which is quite gimmicky so its difficulty's mostly based on how fast you can adept to the stage's gimmicks. Reminded me a lot of Magnet Man's stage.
Boss was kinda easy and kinda not because of a one particular random attack. Guess that's pretty cool for beginner're who're not yet used to the reaction's usually needed for MM bosses.
edit: Played 3 more stages and yeah, it's a solid Mega Man game. Going to finish Irregular Hunter X now.
Just finished downloading all DLC onto Rockman Rockman. Took me forever finding some sort of tut that showed me what to download, although it was actually kinda obvious. Just didn't want to download shit without being 100% sure it's the stuff I want.
I also started playing Irregular Hunter X, which is pretty awesome. Just need to beat Storm Eagle and that Chameleon.
Also finally decided to ditch Castlevania X Chronicles after having played for about 2-3 hours per weekend until now. Stage 5' is fucking horribly hard. Seriously, that stage's difficulty is beyond funny. ._.
Actually, I am, because that sounded like you just described Silent Hill. :p Yet you're right I believe, because I feel like too many studios are putting gameplay behind and compensating their shit with graphics (Heavy Rain /facepalm). Also far too many FPS games.
Anyways, I just got my points card. Will be grabbing Castlevania Rebirth and ALTTP right after dinner. I also got the note from my local's custom office that a package arrived there, containing copies of both PSP Rockman remakes and BoF III. Play-Asia also shipped off my copy of Estpolis today.
I am going to preorder Soulsilver now.
Guess I'm spending way too much money on vidya these days.
Post preview:PS2/GCN was definitely the most awesome generation, though PS/N64 was very cool too. SNES/GEN is definitely good as well, but really overrated and mostly based on nostalgia.
This generation, however, is making me feel hopeless, because I'm not liking the direction games catering to the mainstream are taking (though there are some exceptions). Only non-Wii console game I really want is Tales of Vesperia so far, which isn't much.
time and money is insignificant in terms of technology. or rather, any given technology will eventually become insignificant. everything gets cheaper. everything gets easier to produce. remember, atari games used to be very expensive to produce too. so that's a pretty lame argument, since 10 years from now, today's graphics will be laughably last-gen and no big deal at all.
You're right. Companies putting money into that technology makes technology companies able to further improve on their technology. Didn't think of an approach like that.
However, not so much my controllers. Gotta try cleaning all of them and hope one of them might work afterwards (just cleaned one, but its A and B buttons are still not working).
Post preview:I think graphics are fine the way the PS2 and Wii can pull them off. State-of-the-art FFXIII and RE5 like graphics are not worth the time and money they consume, if you ask me.
Also. It doesn't matter, because you get used to it anyways. Back then I used to be amazed by PS2 and GCN graphics just like most people now a days are amazed by their detaield HD stuff.
But really, I'm just very unhappy with the direction commercial gaming is taking. Can't believe shit like Heavy Rain is already considered to be GOTY. That's why I'm not content seeing Other M turning into a similar direction as everything else on the market.
Although it doesn't come as a big surprise. I'll just tell my little brother to go search for it, because he's been keeping the console the whole time.
Just wanted to say that for me SNES + MegaDrive days were by golden era. I've seen gems every now and again since then as well, but not to the same degree.
Great idea, brb setting up Mega Drive.
I wonder if I'll fail because none of the controllers will work, or because I have no idea how to use channel search with my current TV. Place your bets!
so in re5 when i'm blowing a majini's head off, most of the reason that's so fun is because it looks really damn cool
Nothring wrong with that, but you see, seeing things explode isn't everything fun about the game, right? That's what I meant - it would suck quite a lot if the only merit in playing it would be seeing shit explode. That's not a game, that's a bad action movie. But I actually doubt the game would suck without it's graphic powers. Was just putting an example on the table.
Even fucking Square said FFXIII took them about 3 1/2 years, and that doing a remake of FFVII with the same kind of superior graphics would take them about 3 to 4 times that long. Don't know about you, but I'm not very happy to see FFXIII turned out to be some weird action/cutscene experiment just because of graphics I've never been asking for.
