Megaman 10 on the other hand ... seems odd. I tried it as both Mega and Proto, but neither really felt like a true Megaman experience. Something just seems off, and I tried 3 different stages too so it wasn't just one level that made me feel this way. I have a strong feeling I won't be finishing it just like 9, which sucks because I really enjoyed the Classic series. We'll see though.
Surely you're down with the flu and having mental judgement impairing headaches?
MM10 might have some sort of gimmick in every stage, which is everything but like the first classic games, but these gimmicks blent perfectly with the usual Mega Man gameplay. So I really don't see how this couldn't be a solid Mega Man title.
I can't get enough of them. 90+ hours on MM9 and 25 on MM10 already, that's pretty insane for a game that essentially lasts 30 minutes...
I'm just going to say you won't be beating those 90+ hours on MM10 for now. Don't forget MM10 doesn't have challenges that force you to beat the game dozens of times (30 times IIRC). Mr. Perfect should also go much quicker on Easy Mode. If your're going to do it on Easy, that is.
That is the lamest form of level grinding I've ever heard.
level grinding in pokemon just sucks : (

Trying something new this time though: Rather than go with the standard "build a team as you go" I've got a team already laid out and once I get to the Daycare I'm sending over the parents for three of them so I can breed and start them all at lvl 1. (And get them Egg Moves in the process.) The other three I'll have before I get there.
I had planned to do something similar, but then remembered how LF&FR wouldn't allow you to trade with RSE until you had done some side quest.
Post preview:I heard Pokemon can always get no more than 1 level per walk, no matter how much you walk. Sucks :| I was planning on using it to level my party in Platinum (still haven't beaten the E4).
Post preview:Rockman Rockman's Yellow Devil really wasn't that hard at all, just took me a few tries getting the fixed pattern. Still prefer the boss when he's got a random pattern to react to, though.

I did find out that you can use special weapons during those fights, as long as you don't hit the boss with them, but I was at my last Robot Master when I noticed that.
Nice find, that'll definitely help with doing the hard challenges. Should make Nitoro Man somewhat easy if you can just shoot his wheels.
Ryu: In the Dark World, go to the Blacksmith's Hut. Inside should be an odd-looking treasure chest. Grab it, and take it with you back to the thief in the Light World. The chest won't stop following you unless you dash or jump off a cliff.
I think if you pound all the stakes outside the Blacksmith Hut (Dark World), it opens a cavern leading to a piece-of-heart as well.
Thanks. Got the heart piece already, but must have overseen the chest. Maybe it's just not there if the blackshmith is following you.

Pump, Commando and Chill were really annoying, easily 40+ attempts.
Did you see some sort of pattern in Pump Man's jumping habits on hard? Seems to be random to me. Fucking annoying boss. : /
Post preview:Beat Pump Man and Solar Man on hard, going to continue tomorrow. Did Blind's dungeon in ALTTP.
Quote from Quietus:
That should read 70 arrows if you're maxed. Bombs go up 5 at a time, and then 10 to 50, and arrows go up 5 at a time, and then 10 to 70.
Shit, thanks. When I tried to increase my amount of bombs after I got the 50 upgrade I got told to have reached my maximum number of wishes. Thought that would count for both bombs and arrows, so I almost missed the final upgrade. : /
Quote from Quietus:
I'm sure there is another 600 waiting in the Dark World village too.
Nah, I had already gotten them by the time of my last ALTTP update. The treasure hunt was kinda weird, with red rupees being hidden freaking everywhere. That could have been a way to get off some rupees. Same goes for the sword hardening, which is enormously cheap with 10 rupees. D:
How do I get the bottle from the guy infront of the desert, btw? I remember he's the one to obtain the final bottle from, but I can't figure out how its working anymore. : / That even though I've gotten the hint about him being good at picking locks.
Currently playing ALTTP. I wonder if I'll ever actually make it through the game without any deaths?
Are you playing GBA or SNES version? I remember some people on here saying fairy resurrection didn't count as a death on GBA, but did on SNES. I found no deaths on GBA quite easy, provided you keep a healthy stock of fairies.
SNES (VC). I own the GBA version but never got into it because of its changes. : /

By the way, the three secret weapons in the game were leaked. They're three exclusive weapons from the Game Boy Mega Man games. So the bosses of the Special Stages are probably the exclusive GB bosses.
Yeah they found the sprites in the game. Can't wait to fight Punk again.
most of my nightmares as a child involved teeth, unfortunately. >_>
All my nightmares now a days involve teeth. I think the one I had today was the worst I've ever had - good thing I'm accustomed to them already.
I used to wear fixed dental braces, but slacked off too much when I switched to loose ones. Basically I've been moving around one of my lower incisors for about a year now, because it won't set into a fix position anymore. Sociophobia, and being very unresponsible for myself made me never go back to the clinic where I got them. I'm considering calling them next week, though. Just wondering about the contract which should be dated by now, shit could get expensive.
But chances are they're in a fixed position now that I kinda dropped the braces all together. They're not perfect, but aren't deplaced enough to make me feel ugly. So hopefully they won't move further around.
Hey Quietus, from when on is the big bomb actually available? Was is after obatining the 7th crystal?
No, you can get it after the sixth, so you can use the stuff for Turtle Rock (number 7) as well as Ganon's tower.
Alright, that's still better than right before Ganon I guess. :p Thanks.
Finished upgrading my bombs and arrows, by the way. Didn't know there was a maximum amount of "total wishes" so I ended up with 50 bombs and 60 arrows. Oh well. D: But I'm still at 700 rupees and pretty much just started exploring the Dark World. :| :| :|
Post preview:MM10 hard mode is pretty cool. It changes some stage layouts to make the game more challenging instead of being cheap by increasing the amount of damage taken and amount of enemies.
I don't remember to have ever needed the ice wand. Always thought it was optional as an awesome weapon against the second boss.
Bottles are no problem, got 3/4 already.

For the Super Metroid thing, Wrecked Ship is actually very easy. All you need is a minor short charge in the room before the lake, and one jump onto the top ledge by the door. Horizontal spark from there, and you're across.
I know it's not that hard, but still pretty annoying to pull off if you're not constantly playing the game. :p
Also what. Something attacked and pushed me back into the Temple of Darkness while typing this. :(
Same here, just don't know if I'll be able to beat it in one go. I heard the bosses are super crazy on hard.
Quote:
it might be possible to save your progress between Wily levels
It is possible, although only on Easy Mode.
Currently playing ALTTP. I wonder if I'll ever actually make it through the game without any deaths? Already fucked up in this playthrough by having died to those crabs at the north-east of Lake Hylia, because I was trying to hit them with the boomerang and didn't pay any attention to my energy. :p Shit gives me quite the déjà vu. I just know that I must have been killed by those crabs before. Fucking crabs! /pissed
Post preview:I've got an unfinished file of Super Metroid that I can't seem to get back into, because I don't feel like re-learning getting into the crashed ship without having grapple. It's actually kinda too bad, because I had taken lots of time and effort into mockballing to early Super Missiles just to never continue the file.
Quote from Da Dood:
Without spoiling anything, there are a handful of surprises at the fortress that will make Mega Man fans smile.
Heall yeah. It was pretty awesome when the link between Stage 4 and 5 went way up into space. Too bad they didn't make a second Castle out of that fortress in space. Also agreed on Commando Man's stage. Avoiding a pit on one side and spikes on another while being dragged by the storm appears way easier than it actually is.
So far I'm actually liking MM10 a lot more than MM9, but that's probably because I hadn't been prepared for 9 because I hadn't played any Mega Man games in ages before it had been released.
Post preview:yeah the index icon updated for your post. maybe it was really just because of a few topics still marked as unread, though it hadn't occured up to about one week ago.
Post preview:Got some issues, though they might be known.
a) both the Currently Playing Topic and the Final Fantasy Topic have been stuck with being marked as unread for me (talking about the icons next to the topics)
b) the icons on the Index are also no longer turning green when there is a new post
..okay. I "fixed" problem a) by going to to the Unread menu and clicking "mark these as read". let's see if it's going to occur again.
