Once you complete the level, does it then go to the next level? If so, that would kinda be like a saved game, except it would take you back one whole level.
Yes and no. Whenever I restart the game it forces me to restart at level 1, which is pretty annoying considering the game is quite long.
That's not very much for a non-low budget game. ._.
By the way, you played Castlevania ReBirth, right? Did you manage to pull off the stage select trick? Because it somehow won't work for me. :|
What stage select trick?
>> * Level select
At the title screen, select Game Start and hold right on the d-pad for a few seconds. You'll be able to select and play any levels you have previously reached on the same difficulty.
Played some MM9 these days. Beat the Special Stage for the first time, replaced my old Endless Atack record of 7x with 86 and finally finished the game with Protoman. All that's left is a no-helmet challange.
And .. I just almost beat Platinum's elite4. Cynthia completely raped me, also because I went out of revives. Guess I'll finish this today.
That aside, I finally got a notice from my custom's office that my copy of Estpolis has arrived there. Going to grab it on tuesday.
How you guys can be fans of GoW and not DMC/Bayonetta completely boggles my mind. GoW is in exactly the same ballpark.
Some people probably prefer the "I'm a really angry dude who rips other dudes in half with quicktime events" style over DMC's "Whoa man look at all this crazy over the top extreme action" style. Neither one appeals to me too much so it's possible I'm missing the mark a bit.
You should give Devil May Cry a try then. Yes, I'm talking about the very first.
When I had gotten DMC 3 I had bought it only for its cheap price too. I didn't expect much because I hadn't though too much of the whole "over the top" action theme, and to be honest, I still don't. I kinda liked DMC3 for the bit of atmosphere it had, but that was all. So when I bought DMC it was really just because I had found out about its relation to RE4. Kinda thought it would be an interesting play.
Now I think it's a great game, even though I don't give much shit about the action genre. It's like how Prime is awesome even if you can't stand ego shooters.
Post preview:Great, my room's chair ultimately died today. The sitting plate's wagglign in all possible directions and could slip off any time, while the height-lever is fucked and sometimes won't move at all, and sometimes makes my chair go downhill without being used.
Post preview:It's just something you get used to. Bullet Hell games are usually a lot slower than your regular SHMUP to make up for the many projectiles on screen.
The Gradius games are still the hardest kind of SHMUP I've played.
Post preview:I would recommend trying to start off with your favourite (Metroid) game. What is most important to have when SBing are time and patience, because SBing is all about trying and trying and trying until you can pull a trick/SB off. Back then it had taken me hours just to get the button combination for SJF right.
Early PB in Phendrana's edge (and then plasma, x-ray, more PBs) can be done in all versions (except maybe Wii, I dunno) and is so easy even I could do it.
Post preview:I've gotten quite a lot of positive input from a friend who's been playing it for some days now. Ironically, the nightmare sequences are the only part he's really putting down. The atmosphere seems to be fine enough for a Silent Hill game.
I'd like to buy it, but I'm kinda low on money right now, since I've spent most of it on Estpolis and SoulSilver (both are soon to arrive. I HOPE D:). But I'm also interested in Fragile Dreams. Might buy this one instead of Shattered Memories if I'm okay with what US reviews will be delivering.
Going to start Rockman Rockman hard mode now. Will be working on a stage afterwards.
The first route I took put me through some midly annoying rooms ... towards a door locked by the big key. Next route I took lead me to the chest containing the the red armor. Then my magic bar went dry (also no refills left) on what seemed to be the way to the big key. And I had already passed the teleporter maze.
Congratz! I'm still at about 52%, taking my time..

Is there no Mr. Perfect (or whatever the DON'T GET HIT achievement is called)?
There is. The most notable difference is just that it can be done on easy mode, which also lets you do each Wily stage on its own, without having to start at stage 1 if you get hit at stage 4.
