Post preview:isn't that pretty common for tales games? I always had trouble remembering the complete route for even symphonia, and I imagine abyss to be far worse in this particular aspect (never bothered to replay this yet)
I wouldn't mind having an anime about Metroid or an anime movie but I don't want to see a movie where it's real if you know what I mean because the actor's image would define Samus's real-life image. I'm not talking about her cartoonish but still hot 2-d and 3-d images.
I can't imagine you keeping your user name for very long. ;)
I was also about to ask him if he#s sure he wants to stay with that username lol
Post preview:Yeah, judging from the screens it isn't very atmospheric. It seems to be a rather bright game playing in the outside, so I can't even see how generic zombie-monsters jumping at you should be scary under these conditions.
Post preview:Finished the mall level in Silent Hill 3. jesus, for an introduction level that was pretty crazy, with pretty strong enemies turning up near the end and stuff.
I'm also a big boy now, having managed to play this at night in a darkened room. When I played SH2 some months I ago I could barely play it even in the midst of day.
I'm at the subway now and fuck this shit. Fought a bunch of dogs (to make exploring a suspicious room more easy and safer) and ended up wasting a bunch of bullets and almost all my health items. Turned out I was exploring the completely wrong place. Damn
I also missed a really stupid placed save spot at first. What were they thinking putting it into an optional floor? First time I went into the subway I took a parallel floor and ended up wondering where the f.in' save spot was
then I got run over by a subway train
then I was lucky the game has a continue option, because otherwise I would have had to refight the mall boss. Not to mention the short track to the boss room which was kinda freaky.
but the subway train out of nowhere was FFFUUUU. cheap death
easily a better shmup by definition than R-Type Final.
Why do you think so?
R-Type Final is more a shooting experience than a shooting game. Just consider the low replay value thanks to "boringly slow" stages and lack of action. I know it's fun the first time through, but not so much after a few hours of play time.
Having multiple ships and customization seems more awesome than it actually is. Thanks to that there's pretty much no real balance in the game, since you're free to abuse overpowered ships however you want, and start off with ridiculously weak ships. I know it's possible to balance the game yourself by picking just the right ship for every stage, but just finding out which ship fits you perfect for each stage without being too weak/strong would take hours of time you could have just spent playing a balanced shmup.
Increasing the difficulty also doesn't help with there being minutes of play time without any enemies on screen, especially on the first two levels.
There's a bunch of shmups I can just fire up anytime and have a guaranteed blast. R-Type Final makes me regret to have started playing it just after a few minutes in.
Post preview:Just got Thunder Force VI for PS2. I can see why fans of the series were disappointed with this, but it's still a pretty good game and easily a better shmup by definition than R-Type Final.
Post preview:Borrowed Silent Hill 3 from a friend which I'll start today night. Also bought Silent Hill 4 and started playing this with a friend yesterday.
It's definitely not as bad as its reputation suggests, but some flaws of this game are pretty obvious. The gameplay feels quite annoying and sucks out quite a bit of the game's atmosphere and feel, also while the plot is pretty good it kinda sucks that the main character is pretty much a spectator and wasn't directly involved with the events surrounding Walter. Considering the game has lots of room for an Henry = Walter interpretation, nothing of that sort was used for the canon storyline.
Post preview:Some friends and me once stayed at a friend's place for one week during winter. Crazy thing was, we always went to bed in the morning at around 8-10 am and got up at around 16 to 18 pm.
It was night. Everyday. We never saw an even remotely bright sky once. It was pitch black everyday for us.
