Post preview:Got my Chaos Blade and cleared Anor Londo. The area went smoother than I thought. Without a shield I was sure to get stuck at the pathway protected by archers, but was lucky enough to find a summon sign in the first part of the area. So I had someone else help me out with getting past that spot (thank god it worked!). When I got the Chaos Blade and upgraded it to +4 I went and fought the Titanite Demon. Took me a few tries, the guy's tough enough when you're using a shield, but w/o one... On the attempt that I got the thing down on I had it somehow sitting in a position where its tail was sticking out of the wall, into the hallway. Basically I got to throw some fireballs at the thing safely from outside, which did quite a lot of damage. Still had to the finishing hits properly. That was scary.
O&S I fought for the first time since my first playthrough by myself w/o the help of summons. Beat them on the first try. I kinda feel dumb having felt threatened by them in my last playthroughs, they're really not that hard. I even got hit pretty often because I didn't know Ornstein's moveset so well and survived the fight regardless!
Post preview:Ok. Blighttown from the shortcut was a piece of cake. Gargoyles are dead too, next is Sen's. With a +5 weapon and no shiled I've never been this "weak" at this point in the game. I wonder how things will proceed from here on out...
Post preview:Just defeated Pinwheel and the Capra Demon. Haven't gone to the Gargoyles yet, and I think I'll leave them for last this time. Just because. Earlier I forgot to mention that I'm actually doing a shieldless run. Considering that circumstance, the fight witht he Capra Demon went surprisingly smooth. Sure I got almost killed right as the fight started because I thought I'd have the time to throw an alluring skull (pro tip: you don' have that time), but apart from that I didn't have any problems. Blighttown should be fun though...
Post preview:I like a lot of their older franchises, so I'm really just hopeful. Somewhat. Like, I'd be nice if they did anyother good game, but that'd actually surprise me at this point. That survey's probably going nowhere anyways. I heard it's run by Konami europe, and not even Konami US knew about it. I'm surprised Konami europe is even a thing...
Post preview:Beat Havel. Few. I ended up turning the brightness up so I'd have to focus less on just trying to see tanything.
And I didn't have to bother with repairing my katana, even though I ended up fighting Havel about 5 times. Still went and repaired it after I beat him though, just in case. Afterwards I took some steps into Blighttown from the New Londo shortcut. Got just past the fat guys, thought I'd keep going, but then remembered about the guys with the toxic darts. So I pussied out since I wasn't prepared for that at all.
Castlevania -- whip gameplay, horror creatures, good challenge Contra -- fast paced action, responsive controls, level variety Gradius -- high risk high reward gameplay Parodius -- sense of humor, Konami references, less difficult than Gradius (but I said it's okay that Gradius is difficult) Rocket Knight -- practically limitless mobility Mystical Ninja -- Japanese style, balance between town levels and action levels Sunset Riders -- it's Contra in the Old West!
Can't disagree with those. I just said they should keep the traditional gameplay in all cases where I cared.
I'll be fighting a boss and getting my ass kicked over and over and finally beat it, and then later I'll play it on an even harder difficulty at a friend's house and just be in the fucking ZONE man, and kill it without even taking a hit.
Taking a break from doing something helps with getting your concentration back. Also, the human brain also keeps learning from a past experience for a while.
Post preview:It's a joke anways. Especially with the stream lagging so badly behind. If it weren't for that, I imagine someone could write a program to read actual control inputs, so people could play all at once properly. Or randomly taking turns every second.
Post preview:Started another character in DaS. For once I actually chose the Master Key as starting gift. I was quite disappointed that I couldn't use it until I ran into Havel. Naturally I know I could have gone straight down to Quelaag, but at this point I'm not sure if I want to skip Blight Town at all. Power Within is one mighty argument after all. Now, fighting Havel this early on... was different. I fought him way more offensively than usual, despite the high risk of dying. But I guess when you're so weak there's nothing you can do other than rushing straight into him. It felt like it took forever, but after a while I had him down to 5%. Then I mistimed a roll and got squashed. Didn't think he'd do a 36ß0 turn during his attack animation...
Now I'm not sure I can find fight him a second time for a while, because I offed the merchant for the Uchigatana. Pretty sure my Katana is about to crumble and I don't have anything to repair my weapons with. D:
Anyways, even after all the time I already spent on the game it's still great fun to play from scratch. Guess I'm gonna stick with it for a while... again.
Post preview:That might be a smart business strategy. People are stupid. Give them too many options with the editor from the get-go, and they won't know what to do with it. Doing it that way enables them to slowly figure things out one after another.
The point of the video is less analyzing why people get heart attacks and more trying to point out that there's almost no scientific evidence supporting dietary guidelines on fat and cholesterol - only correlative links with poor control for other variables.
That's true. I was kinda going a step further and adding my interpretation to what causes heart diseases if it isn't greasy food itself.
Post preview:So the gist I get out of that video is people get heart attacks because they're fat, and people get fat because they eat way too much

But I know that's a can of worms and last time this discussion was a debate it made whats-her-face leave the forum forever (and somewhat by extension DJ I guess?)
Woah, what? What did I miss? How's this a topic that causes drama?
