not really. i would add some things Metroid 2 didn't have (i.e. blue doors, super missles) if i could learn coding and/or have someone do coding for me.

Look I don't think any one want to do coding for you before you actually have any thing to show off. Or prove that you actually have experience. I do not think you have but you can always prove me wrong if thats the case.
There is a level editor for metroid 2. But to use it, you really need to know what you are doing.
But good luck. I will always stay to hacking SM and sonic.
