Servin' you realness!!
I'm trying to think of another activity that some people are really skilled at but there's no real way of making a living off of it.  I realize there are a few people in the world who profit from their skills at playing video games, but let's get realistic - they are too few to even consider.  Every other thing I can think of can turn into profit somehow.  Is gaming unique in this aspect or am I just having brainblock?

EDIT: sorry, way off topic here.

o wait I read that wrong I think

I thought you meant activities where some people are really good and make money, but most people don't make any money from it.

Theres also a lot of people who are good at counter strike and Starcraft, who give lessons to other people. A novice can give lessons for $25/h, then the good players charge $50, and the tournament-pros charge $150/h.

I know they exist, but plenty?  I've never even met one before.

I suppose you need to live somewhere with a game studio nearby, but I've known a couple over the years.

Yeah I guess Colorado isn't known for anything like that.  I was born in Austin, there's plenty of tech stuff out there - like Retro.
