Yes, I know this discussion is old. I finally figured out the way I want this question answered: Ask everyone on the board which controller I should use for this game. As you all know, I have trouble with my regular SNES controller (accidentally pressing up diagonally about 30% of the time) and I don't know if it's just old or if it was made that way. So which controller would you recommend? (Yes third-party SNES/Wii controllers count.)

There is such a thing as a keyboard-to-SNES cable

Seriously!? And it would be allowed at SDA?

Since turbo controllers are not allowed, and some keyboards have macros which can be used as turbo built into them...

The colored SuperPad SNES controller works best for me, especially if the problem is you are accidentally pressing diagonal.

Colored? I saw a SuperPad SNES controller on Amazon once, but I'm not sure if it's "colored" or not. Could you upload a pic?

If it's colored it could be the buttons as seen here...

^the original Japanese eh...  (design).  "Super Famicom" would be more accurate.

Edit:  @072...  I would have to wonder...  If this controller is essentially made from the same company....  the very plastic would surely come from almost identical molds, as well as it's design and construction should also be the same.  -Duh, that goes without saying.   Rolling Eyes

To simply say the colored one is better than the (purple and gray buttoned) one...  Sorry, but I have doubts about that.  I mean, it just doesn't seem logical.

But if you have used both and noticed a significant difference - then please pardon my ignorance.  :P

So basically I should use the SuperPad controller with the colored buttons (from the Super Famicom's controller)?

Oops, yeah, by colored I meant the buttons.

I have about 6 SNES controllers, and nearly all of them are different, inside and out. The SuperPads at amazon aren't the right ones. I ordered one of 'em, and got a grey/purple one with "Super Nintendo" at the top.

Well if he has it he had to have bought it somewhere. Either that or someone he knows gave it to him.

If you own a Wiimote and a Classic Controller and your computer has a Bluetooth support, you can use the Classic Controller through a special application.
GlovePIE for Windows.
DarWiin remote for Mac.

Umm... not sure if I made this clear enough, but I'm not talking about emulators (ZSNES, VBA, etc.) here. I'm talking about playing on an actual SNES/Wii.
