I use the regular ol' setting that are preset into the game.

I just wanted to know what everyone else uses.

Having item select as one of the main four is practically necessary for speedrunning.  And having run in between jump and shoot is also very useful.

Nice how only the first reply is actually for the console, which is what the original poster seemed to be asking about. :P  Knowing which key someone assigns to IBJ isn't going to help a console player any.

The topic's come up before, though:

Actually, the first link just has one person's response and then a post linking those other two threads

Umm... what about me? My control scheme was for the console.

Oops, sorry, I made the post some time after I read the thread and only skimmed the contents again when writing it, and missed yours. :(

On a console:
Jump -- B;
Shoot -- Y;
Dash -- A;
Item cancel -- X;
the rest is unchanged.

On an emulator (=keyboard):
Jump -- S;
Shoot -- D;
Dash -- A;
Item cancel -- W;
Start -- Z;
Select -- X;
Aim up -- E;
Aim down -- Q.

I actually prefer playing on a SNES controller, but sadly, I still have no means of connecting it to my PC.

You mean I can get it shipped here in Russia?
Edit: Ah, it seems that they ship worldwide and accept PayPal payments... Worth giving it a shot, I suppose (at least if I find a way to get myself a PayPal account).

Hmm...maybe not.  PayPal doesn't seem to be available in Russia.

Perhaps a direct deposit?

Don't worry, I think I have some means of getting it. I'll do it a bit later, though.

Either way, I appreciate the offer. :)

Sorry, I looked back about 5-6 pages and didn't see the topic so I decided to ask. Oh, and no, you can post the controls you use for any controller/keyboard/seamammel.

Hey... I KNOW you can't put Run on L or R. I tried. Desperately. It's probably the only way that would make SM actually have a decent, non-painful control scheme, but nope.

yeah, iirc some faq said to set it to r, so i did. maybe you're thinking of setting angle up or down to another button or something.
