That sucks. Is there any code like that (no, not the one where you rise up and can't go back up when you fall). I would do it on Fusion, but I don't want to buy a codebreaker, and I can't find a Fusion Rom.
Embarrasing Fact: Power suit made by lowest bidder
wait a sec. How did you go from zoom out to moon jump? The movie had *nothing* to do with zoomed out views. Moon jump is easy, just disable the code that lowers Samus's jumping speed if she's moving upwards. There's also a number of ways to get a space-jump type effect by stuff like turning around thanks to how the initial jump settings are handled - I ran into this a lot on accident when making the ability to spinjump in mid-air for Redesign. Moon Jump: 9090F780 + 9090F82E And I'm going to give PJMan the benefit of doubt and assume he's messing with your head.
ASM stands for Assembly. It's the coding that the SNES games use. All the ROM code in the game is assembly, and all that ROM code is mirrored to the RAM (but not vise-versa). Cheat cartridges can modify anything in the RAM, which means it can modify the game's assembly in the RAM. The change won't be permenant if you turn your cheat cartridge off, and will revert the next time you do a hard-reset (turn off the SNES and then turn it back on again)
With regards to the "permanent blue suit, shinespark anywhere" code, it is very much possible to beat the game without bombs this way. (I just did, this past weekend.) Interestingly, with those codes it is impossible to get the spazer without having the springball. I'd be curious to see what the low% is (12%?) with those codes, since you no longer need bombs, speed, or ice to beat the game.
Also, shinespark Mother Brain for the quickest death ever. Contact with Mother Brain does about 200 damage, and when you shinespark you pass right through her head, taking ungodly amounts of damage as you go through. It's the quickest thing SM has to instant death. Must be seen to be believed.
charidish: I have done both. And it is possible to get spazer without spring ball, you just need bombs. And the lowest percent is 7% without codes. With codes it's 0%. I have done a 1 minute 0% with game codes.

Reread my post; I said "without bombs." Also, 7% without codes is completely impossible. Starting a list of required things, we start to see... 1) morph ball 2) bombs 3) missiles 4) supermissiles 5) power bombs 6) varia 7) gravity
...and oh wait, you need 301 energy to survive Mother Brain's final attack. Guess you need at least 3 energy tanks. And you also need more than 5 missiles and 5 supers to kill MB's first form.
And with codes, of course it's 0%. I was referring to using only the blue suit/shinespark codes.
The route is Morph Ball -> Missiles -> Bombs -> Super Missiles -> Power Bombs -> Speed Booster -> X-Ray. That's 7%. You skip fighting Kraid , Phantoon, Dragooon, Ridley, and Mother Brain with X-Ray Glitching. You get the speed booster without Varia or E-Tanks by Pause Screen Glitching. You need Morph Ball for tunnels and Missiles. You need Missiles for Bombs and Super Missiles. You need bombs for walls and bomb jumping. You need Supers for doors. You need Power Bombs for X-Ray. You need Speed Booster to get caught far enough in the Tourian door. You need X-Ray to skip the 5 main bosses. With this, you can avoid all bosses/minibosses (you can skip bomb torizo). I would be working on a TAS of one, but I don't know how to do the 2 spots of X-Ray Glitching. You can see a 13% NBMB here http://www.metroid2002.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6016. You just do the tricks there but you don't collect the energy tank, the extra missile, supers, or P-Bombs. You also skip Ice, and grab Speed instead.
Note: You can pick up Speed and P-Bombs in any order.
