I'm assuming by raising gth bars you are planning on exiting through the front of the mines to go back to the ship. What is your mines route? pbomb(obviously) then [xray/artifact in phazon]->other atifact exit front of mines to ship or the other way around. just wondering cause i was trying to follow the route through today and i went to xray first and am now stuck somewhere in a sw floating to go to the other artifact.

right.  once you figure out aether jumps you don't have to worry about floating.  i put up a video a few pages back on the wallcrawl.
That segment was really one of the best to me so far.
Incredibly quick execution, GTH bars first try (which always amazes me).
I also didn't know that you could pick up x-ray so soon after laying the pb to be effective.
Also, now I understand why you picked up the pb expansion in ice ruins west.
Too bad you couldn't nail the wall boost in waste disposal but this one is kinda hard.
And I'm still puzzled by how one can get a quick maze (with one puddle) when I only had two of this kind after playing Prime hundreds of times.

And I will never thank you enough for editing out all the boring cutscenes that I'm sick of.

still got eaten by a metroid, but at least it's better than 3!

you can go backwards through fhb pretty fast using boost ball, but it's really hard to do without hitting something and messing it all up.
also, ideally i'd have gotten two pbs in central dynamo, then one during the op fight so i could powerbomb him, but i didn't feel like it for this run.

BioSpark: as my camming experience would prove time and time again, you can only do so much with a bad source.

Its so fun to watch. So this puts you around 47 min ~42 sec if i did the math right. What was your goal before ridley?

well if i save there at ~54:35 i'm confident i can get 1:01.  atm it doesn't look like it'll take that long, though.

ey sparky....after the artifact of newborn(you have the spiderball and your goal is the artifact of warrior)...what do you think which way is faster...back to omega and ->elite control ...or back to metroid quarantine a ->elite control...G_G

if you have spider, it's definitely faster to head up ppc and then toward the phazon elite.

You can try to download the video (there are several firefox plugins that do it well) and play it in vlc (boosting the gamma). Bright and clear.

There's a few interesting route choices throughout this whole run Sparky, and it's made it feel like a very fresh run, which is always extra kick ass to see. :) Looking forward to your final time.
Amazing segment as always. It's so easy to get badly hurt by the turrets in the beginning.
I still wonder why, in the room with the missile expansion beneath the mushroom, you kill the pirate below with ice/missile instead of a charged plasma shot, since you have to switch to plasma anyway for the next door. I must've missed something here since you probably have a very good reason to do that.

the energy or missile drop come right after you kill him with ice and it take some time with plasma.

The Overlord of All Acorns.
when you roast an enemy with plasma, they stay there dying until the animation is done playing (and they are completely incinerated).  if you ice & missile, by the time the missile hits, they die almost instantly, allowing a clearer path faster.

I was just thinking about your route to plasma beam. Is it not possible to wallcrawl around thardus on the way to geo core? If it was possible you could have went wave->boost->plasma and probably save some time. I don't know if that wallcrawl is possible though since the door to thardus isn't activated.

Knowing whether it is possible will be good info for a 100% route me and craztad put together a long time ago that someday I will get around to running.

right.  at the time i thought it was impossible, but then he figured it out.  i don't think it'd be faster in this route though.

I was just thinking it was a lot shorter distance to travel. Guess I will do some timings if i can figure out the wallcrawl. It took you 4 min 44 sec approximately from the phendrana cutscene to entering geo cores first spinner slot so that is my time to beat.

iirc, the trick to loading the broken door in ruined courtyard is, assuming you are outside the room facing the door head on, on the right side.  There should be a little strip of land that crosses most of the wall (that you can stand on outside the room).  you have to muck around or something on the right side of this strip to load the room.  if paraxade sees this he can tell you more. =p
Paraxade:

The loading trigger's basically on the platform a little farther than the walls stick out, if you morph while standing by the door there's a part where there's some snow slightly piled up by the door. If you can morph you can roll inside it which triggers the door to load.

If you get past the deactivated door in RC then can't you just jump past the thardus trigger in quarantine cave and proceed past him in-bounds? Don't see why not since you can do it backwards and that seems like it'd be a lot harder. If so all you need to do is pop into the Ruined Courtyard SW and go past the door then go back inbounds (which would eliminate the need to even morph to hit the loading trigger in RC since you can do it from inbounds).

Don't think you can get up to the high door in quarantine cave, but I dunno
