Your positional control continues to baffle, 'Sparky. Really, it's actually beautiful to watch. So, any rough estimate yet on the final time or is it too early to say anything about that?

hey sparky what you think...would be IBBF useful in a 100% run..?

always move fast
after some quick thought it seems like it could be viable.  route could look like:

- up to magmoor the same (get early wild)
- grab missiles & energy tank in triclops pit & elevator tunnel on way to phen
- do phen the same
- head to workstation the same
- grab everything in far phen (do far phen first), including gravity
- head backwards through pirate labs, grabbing super and stuff
- in close phen, slight detour to grab spider & missile
- grab stuff in the ice ruins and phen shorelines and ruined courtyard, artifact in ice temple
- grab strength and ice spreader -> grab lifegiver
- it might be best to do all of chozo right here, or save same of it for after the mines.  figure out whichever is faster, but ultimately head to the mines through the front
- go through the wave pirate fight, grabbing stuff in your way.  head to invisible sentry
- kill op and head up ppc, grabbing the missile, head back to phazon elite (you have spider ball so it's easy)
- kill it and escape through ore processing + waste disposal, grab grapple.
- leave through the front, do crashed frigate backwards
- climb to the top of the room (easy from the side of the ship), to grab the missile up there (maybe grab the missile in the water depending on what you do next)
- if there's still stuff to do in chozo, head back to reflecting pool and do that, leaving through the front and returning to the ship.  otherwise, just head to the ship
- kill ridley and prime

seems fast and i don't think i missed anything, but admittedly i haven't thought it through all that thoroughly.

edit: i seem to remember you being unable to do crashed frigate backwards...  if that's the case, forget lifegiver and head that way on the way to phazon mines.  on the way back, get the stuff in chozo on the close side (eg: hote -> crossway -> furnace -> gathering hall stuff).  then us a sw in arboretum to hope over the vines and grab wild (don't get it early... this is probably possible?), and grab the stuff from hive mecha back to main plaza.  then finally head around the training chamber loop to get that stuff.  get lifegiver last and leave through the front.

edit again: kharay, unless i really misstimed the rest of the game, it's looking like 61 minutes

thank you for the exact explanation (^^)..
how do you find this route...(I think you'll understand what I mean)

(on the way I catch all kinds of items)

->flaahgra->wave beam->boostball->super missile->plasma beam->gravity-suit->spiderball->artifact of sun->artifact of wild-> Hall of the Elders-> crashed frigate-> x-ray-> mines (front)->to omega pirat->back to artifact of warrior...

hmm..>_>

that seems pretty solid.  the plasma detour will cost a couple minutes, but not too bad.  also, doesn't look like you get strength and ice spreader anywhere... =o

61 is pretty sweet actually. Ofcourse, it's hard to make any predictions considering new tricks may be found, but, does the community feel it is in fact possible, breaking the hour mark? From what I've seen these past, oh, at least 3 years... it doesn't exactly look like it actually is possible.

This is a question to the whole community - do you guys think it is possible, 59 minutes? As we understand the game today, that is.

sparky said he's skipped some harder tricks here and there and has blown some stuff. I guess sub 1h should be possible with an absolutely flaweless run, but that's easier said than done ...

Somebody will definitely do it, problem is it might take a while until somebody has the actual time to do it.

unfortunately it's not just a case of just going faster.  at this point the most significant loss of time comes from having to wait for rooms to load. many of the places where i have mistakes are completely negligible because i'd have to wait for doors to load anyway.  by eliminating most of the costly mistakes, optimizing things such as the chozo ghost fights, and eliminating terrible saves like the one after i.drone, you should be able to get 1:00.  it's tough to imagine how much harder :59 would be.

assuming that a tas has the same loading constraints as the console version of this game, i can't even imagine that being more than a few minutes faster.  i don't believe there is that much left to squeeze out here.  I personally think we'd need a still better route.

would be a plasma-before-ice beam-route faster?..
I have mastered it with the floaty-jump to reach the ice beam door(it is more easy than difficult)...
now I have to figure out how I manage that the room invites while I am in it...x_x...

Isn't it impossible to get out of plasma processing if you get plasma before ice? The room's locked via a ice beam door after all.

It's plasma on the plasma processing side...

the room with the first elite pirate is pretty lame, the ice pirates have a habit of killing you even if you have full life.  otherwise, everything went reasonably well.

good stuff as usual. some parts of the mines looked sloppy, but i guess you couldn't have gone any faster. those parts aren't easy to navigate, especially with all the pirates.

Speaking of, I might have missed it somewhere but why did you actually fight that Elite Pirate anyway? Do you need him out of the way for a later trip for something?

yeah.  when wallcrawling over toward the phazon elite, that room crashes if the elite pirate is still alive.

I noticed something in one of your videos i don't know how to do. It seems when you fire a missile and your using a gun other then the charge beam you can fire your first shot of the weapon after the missile faster then normal. How do you do this? I remember seeing it in one of zoids runs too so i don't think im just hallucinating lol but who knows

all it was was rapid fire missile.  with the other beams you have to hold a a bit longer (to start the charge beam).
