always move fast
yesterday nate got me interested in trying to record a video off of the ds, and so i went about and created the ghetto setup that would allow me to do so.  now, as it is a digital camera, the quality isn't the most spectacular thing in the world, but i think it came out pretty well nontheless...

anyway, if for whatever reason you want to make a video, here's what i did: sit/lay/whatever where you can rest your ds on a flat surface, put the camera in front of your chest, so there is at least a good 5-6 inches between it and the ds, and put the camera high enough so it can get both screens.  if, like mine, your camera needs the button held down to record videos, get a piece of paper that you can wrap around it the camera (roll it into a stick-like shape), stick a thumbtack (or similar item, through it and use the flat end to depress the bottom, and tape the ends of it together to keep the button pressed.

anyway, atm the only interesting video i have recorded is a little trip through phazon mines, but i expect more to come in the future.  and of course, many thanks to nate for all the compressurizing and such that i don't know how to do. =D

Isn't there something you can plug into the back of your DS to capture video and audio? It obviously isn't meant for release to the general public, but I don't think it would be too hard to get ahold of.

Here's my own test video using my digital camera that I tried today (in the light). I just found my mini-tripod for the camera too, so I'll see what stuff I can do once I upgrade my 512Meg SD card to a 1 gig one :D

What do you reckon about the quality?

Quality looks awesome, but you can see too much other stuff besides the screen. If you can get the same quality at the same angle as sparky's vid, you'd be golden.

I made that video before I found my mini-tripod again, so I'll see if I can set up a test recording after work tonight, for a better idea of the final result...
