I've been hearing a lot that super Metroid on the VC is different in some way from the original cartridge version. I'm hearing its easier, harder, etc.

Is this any true? if so what IS different. I want to speed run the game (as i have been working on for the past half a year) but it seems pointless if it is different from the original.

You sure? I can't seem to equip the murder beam (and therefore the space-time beam as well) on the vc version of the game. idk I could just be doing it wrong (I haven't really tried on the snes version for years).
