Well, I can't get scan levitation to work anywhere else. Oh well...I wasn't really expecting to. You can use any scan-able item (as long as it is within your scan view) to get up to the platform. I just used Reptilicus. Once you start levitating, Reptilicus just stands there.
ruined my last SS attempt... (if you're going to ask how I'm doing attempts/recording stuff with a broken DVDR, then read my last edit in my hyper low% thread)
youtube sucks... I removed it because it was taking over an hour to process. Of course after reuploading it the reuploaded version is also taking forever.
lol. This game has so many audio glitches. If scan an object over and over really fast in Fiery Airdock (may work elsewhere) eventually the music will start cutting in and out randomly. It is quite annoying.

You don't need to do that to make the music jump around, it does that by itself pretty often.
There's an interesting useless glitch involving scanning something over and over on Norion, though, which will probably end up being in my run when I finally finish it. :P (if not I'll just post it)

Really? I've never had it cut in and out ever until did the scan levitation glitch. Maybe you have a small scratch on your disc?
It's not rare for me, it happens all the time especially on Norion. It happens every single time during the loading right after the Alpha Hoppers.
That must be annoying. If that kept happening to me, I'd just turn the music volume all the way down. The atmosphere of the game wouldn't be as good though with no music.
One time in Skyway Access, I canceled Dane's cutscene and his lift was left behind (dunno if he was on it still, I only saw the edge). I jumped on it as it rose, and it disappeared about 1/3 the way up the room. Haven't been able to repeat it. Good to see Paraxide getting a weird cutscene acting exactly opposite. If only we could repeat them and use them in interesting ways...
I always get audio glitches in the back half of Thorn Bryyo the first time through.
The scan visor seems to have some nice potential for a useful technique. We've got the scan jump above, the scan dash(?) in Repair Bay Alpha, scan levitation, and using it to move faster on sticky ceilings in SWs (probably a form of scan levitation).
In Echoes, silent ((((echo)))) noticed one roll jump in Agon would go further if he locked onto a pirate as he came out of it. So one might want to see if the scan jump could also be done as a "combat jump".
Also in Echoes was the LOL jump (lock on ladder). As you jump over an unscanned item, scan it. It was guessed that the immediate loss of lock as you went over it did something (if the jump actually existed). DJGrenola used it on a crystal in Feeding Pit to jump on a pillar when heading to the Light Beam. That's something else people might wish to test.
Pointless missle expansion trick. Skip pulling the exhaust pipe down. Probably already known. This is pointless because...
1. If you are going to get this expansion anyway, in the long run it saves time to just pull down the exhaust pipe for when you need to destroy eastern energy signature later.
2. Cutscenes don't take away time. Getting the missle expansion this way is no faster really (well, maybe a second faster).
And this is really useless (warning: boring vid). I don't even know if it is considered a glitch.

It happened to me during my run. :P Obviously though I didn't try jumping on it, since I was still speed running.
Another strange glitch I encountered on my run is when I was getting Spider, I apparently managed to lock onto one of the seeker targets while in morph ball mode (the targeting thing didn't appear, but you can hear the sound it makes)
