TUMIKI Figthers! Some of you might have played some of ABA's other games, such as Noiz2sa and rRootage.

The concept is this: It plays out like a typical horizontal shooter, but when you destroy enemies, you can catch their defeated husks as they fall and attatch them to your own ship, adding their firepower to yours, but also becoming a bigger target. Oodles of fun, oodles of difficulty. I've gotten to the final boss multiple times, but I just don't have the reflexes to survive through all his forms.

This board brought us such incredible displays of skill as 10% MZM Hard runs, surely someone here can conquer this game...

This game is fun. I can't beat level 2 yet. I hate it when 1 part of your pickup gets hit, every pickup is destroyed.

Edit: Ok, I got to level 3. How in the world would anyone be able to keep those large ships attached to you.

I have to say I agree with you on the aspect of losing every part in one shot. Anyhow, here's some tricks I've picked up:

Stage 3:
after you kill the last miniboss (that UFO-shaped thing with 4 turrets sticking out of it), grab it - for the rest of the level, most of the enemies come from the top of the screen, and are pretty easy to avoid and dispatch. If you're quick and a little lucky, you can keep amassing power until the boss.

Stage 3 Boss:
First, take out one of the two downwards-facing guns to ease up the firepower a bit. Then, fire at the centerpiece; when it goes down, the second lower turret will go with it. The rest of this battle is pretty easy.

Stage 4:
There's one part of this level where a whole swarm of the little one-hit grunts soar by, faster and faster, and it's hard not to get hit. A simple trick: at first, try to take out as many as you can with your guns, but when they get too fast, start rapidly skirting the edge of the screen in a circle to avoid the gunfire.

Stage 4 Boss:
First Form: The first time I saw this, I thought it was impossible. However, you gotta notice that all the shots fire at your immedate position. Start at one end of the screen, and creep up as the wave of fire continues. Then,  get around it to creep back down the screen for the next wave. Repeat.
Third Form: Just remember: Touching enemies does not kill you.

Stage 5:
Those 3 minibosses at once near the beginning of the stage aren't nearly as hard as they look. Each time they fire, move a TINY BIT up or down, and you'll avoid the attack completely.

Stage 5 Boss:
Start the battle near the bottom of the screen. Gradually work your way up, weaving between the vertical shots coming from above and below. When you start getting near the top, make a sudden dash upwards, which should leave a gap in his stream of fire. Sneak through this, and weave your way back down. After that piece goes down... I really can't help you. It's just really, really hard.

Edit: GAME BEATEN

I find that one hard, too. What are you supposed to focus on: killing the enemies, avoiding the fire or picking up stars? One of them always gets left out when I play.

something you have to notice in the later levels.

killing something converts all the ships nearby to the little green crosses.

so, you focus on avoiding, and then hoping your shots hit ships that will end up stopping more shots from hitting you.

or somehting like that.

...yeah...

w00t, it got back up.

the site www.ballisticzen.org is filled with a (small amount, currently, hes still adding all the titles he used to have) bunch of schmups.  Definately check out "Warning Forever" that game is awesome.  Theres not many shooters on the site yet, so check them all out.
It also has some very nice music from shooter games.

I can't let anyone miss Perfect Cherry Blossom, so here's a link:

It's truly awesome.

TUMIKI Fighters was playable, but not that good. There's better shmups out there. But, well, there's worse too.

Amen to Warning Forever. Also worth a shot on that site is Cho Ren Sha, but it takes a couple levels to get interesting.

Just thought I'd mention that there's a new version out, which, if I read the readme correctly, makes a hit on the player only destroy one piece, instead of the whole bunch. I'ma go try it out.
