Is the SNES control pad supposed to be this wobbly? About 30% of the time when I turn around I accidentally press diagonally in the process. Is the SNES controller always like this or is mine just really old and worn out? And if it is the former, is there a more stable SNES controller I can get somewhere?

P.S. Does SDA accept runs done with any controller (as long as turbo function is not used)?

I like Big Butts and I can not lie
From my experience of playing Super Street Fighter II, your pad can never be too wobbly

I guess it's not that it's wobbly, it's just that it's very hard to control. Like I said, almost every time I turn around on Super Metroid, I accidentally press diagonally in the process. It's basically a big hard-to-control block, as spidey-widey said. Would SDA accept a run done on that PS1 controller for SNES?

The Nintendo and (at least to my knowledge) Sony PS1 controller's D-Pads aren't as good as SEGA's D-Pad design.

P.Jman mentioned a fighting game.  The Saturn controller for fighting games (IMprofessionalO)...  there's just no comparison.  Period.

But that's going off-topic.  :P  But it's not off-topic to say that it seems VERY reliable in the directional department....  Too.  grin new

If anyone is wondering: I use a Saturn pad to play almost all of my games.  I have it hooked to a (USB) 3-in-1 PC Joy Box.

I wonder what it would be like to play Super Metroid with an Arcade control stick?  :-k

I didn't even know they made devices to hook up PS controllers to SNESes.

Anyway, I see no reason for SDA to ban using a different controller.

Also, in my experience, a wobbly d-pad is actually better, as it allows for easier and faster pressing of the directions you need.

But it also lets you press directions you need to NOT press.

Surely it can't be as bad as the GamePad Pro USB controller?

That's why you learn to only press the directions you need.

With wall jumping, that's pretty damn close to impossible.

I actully find walljumping easier with a wobbly, worn-out d-pad than a new, non-wobbly one.

My SNES controllers are basically fried. are there any still readily avialable alternatives to make my SNES fully functional again? I have to pound my start button into oblivion to make it work. and the outside of the cable is split in places i.e. you can see the wires. I'm holding them together with electrical tape. -.-

Where can I find the PS1 controllers for SNES?
