if you open the .php in microsoft word and you save it as the same file then it should be ok. it should not be rendering the file, in other words it should look very close to the screenshot. you should do one test file and .zip it and attach it and i can tell you if it's ok.

yes, you will have to export as plain text and save it with the -de.php ending.

MR.X: Use Notepad (Start>>All Programs>>Accesories>>Notepad, or, alternatively, Start>>Run, then type notepad and press Enter). It's easier, and I don't think M2k2's files are so big that normal Notepad can't handle them.

yeah, but a lot of them are probably unix text, so that won't work.

Try this: http://www.textpad.com/

You can use it for free, it will only occasionally harass you to register, and you can jsut select "continue evaluation" and it will leave you alone for awhile.

It is an upgraded version of Notepad, and will allow you to easily edit any type of file, and allow you to save it in any format you like.

In addition, it has the ability to add "syntax dictionaries" for programming languages which will highlight key words and such.

I reccommend it highly.

lol, what's next, LetterPad? CharacterPad?

But yeah, Windows+R will bring up the Run window, where you can type either WordPad (for WordPad) or NotePad (for Notepad). I'd recommend WordPad, because most of the site files are probably Unix text, which is incompatible with NotePad.

If you meant you don't know how to open the Run window, then that's no problem-- it's easy. Just press the Windows key (it should have the Windows logo on it) and press R. Or press Start > Run.
