Anyways, as the title suggests, I found this a few years ago but never thought anything of it. Exactly how useful would it be? I reckon fairly useless, no? It does require the boost ball iirc.
It's pretty useless considering we get the Gravity Suit in 100% and in any/low% we skip the crashed frigate. and yes going through the frigate without Gravity does require the Boost Ball.
If it's doable in Trilogy, I could see some use there. Trilogy can't skip boost, so that would allow you to skip the Frigate without getting an extra PBX to break into the mines backwards.
It's still way slow. In terms of speed, it's way faster to pick up a pb expansion and spider ball to access upper mines/warrior. Though, in terms of low%, going through the frigate is the only way.

i can do it pritty fast in my test route for a speed run i used it and got 2:10 (no SJE and i got spider ball\ super missles) and i only think it took like 5 or so minuts
it seems really weird they wouldn't remove some of these glitches from mp1 but remove them in 2 and 3. it doesn't make sense. the jp version of mp1 made some sense because it was released way earlier than the trilogy so they couldn't have got around fixing everything but still seeing BSJs in the trilogy is whack.

Trilogy's MP1 is a modified NA 0-00 version as far as I know. quite a few things that were disabled in the later versions of the gamecube version are still doable in the Trilogy version.
I can't believe that Retro forgot about that glitch. Makes me think they were too pre-occupied with eliminating all the sequence breaks to worry about game-breaking glitches. (which doesn't surprise me.)

Actually, they did fix it - you can still do the WTR glitch in the room however when you leave the artifact is still there when you return
