Tourian without Ice Beam?

I remember on Metroid it was possible, but I have never found a way to get around the Metroids. Missiles bounce right off them.

The doors don't open until all the Metriods in that room are killed. Ice beam can't be skipped.

Impossible. Maybe if there was a cheat that didn't lock the doors, then yes it might be possible.

I think that you have to have ice beam because of the doors that are locked. If you don't have it, it's impossible. To unlock the doors you have to kill the metroids. You need Ice Beam or else you can't continue. If you don't have it, you can't kill metroids, so because you can't kill metroids, you can't open doors.

On a less trolling note: Has anyone hacked to get PBs before Tourian and used them on metroids?

I guess I thought the game crashed if you used P.B. before you get the new suit. Maybe I'm crazy but this memory is linked to the memories where people were working (in vba) on getting that PB tank in bottom-left norfair early. It might also just not show them like in MF, or it might just not let you use them even if it shows them, not sure, but I recall there being something programmed in there to stop it, even though it wasn't possible to get 'em anyway.
This topic should probably be let die though, just sayin.

No, but I've hacked to get them to get into Chozodia from the first room.

Actually, nothing in the programming stops you from getting that tank. The lava is all that blocks your path. Infinite Energy and you're good to go!

The level design of the room in Norfair prevents you from reaching the power bomb tank as well

Your right, you can skip it until then though, Wave Beam is white, seen it on a youtube video.

You can't skip the ice beam in Zero Mission. Because you would have to freeze them with and then shoot 5 missiles at them.

@SuperMetroidBoy100, you can skip it until Tourian, but to have to have it when you get to Tourian.

That isn't a skip. It's a delay, which isn't helpful in this case.

Nope, before you get the Gravity Suit the liquid works against you. Tried it once. Even if the magma weren't there, at least acid would be, and even in the Varia, you can't get it. And it's impossible to hack to get them early. During the escape sequence, even if you store a charge, you need (gasp) a Power Bomb!
