Because today it was raining all the time, I started a new a game in "normal" and just finished it. The bosses are SO easy compared to Hypermode, but it is kind of cool to see them die so fast ;)

Anyway here my results:

I think it is not bad for a third playthrough- next time I'll probably use sequence breaks

First Completion, Veteran 13:34, 79%
Second Completion, Hyper 11:00 100% (I like ones and zeroes.)

My first playthrough was a mess, since I didn't read stuff enough, went through ares too quick and didn't learn the area layouts. The second I spent lots of time getting all items in the end. Working on a faster Normal low% run now so I've all difficulties beaten.

My first playthrough. I'm actually surprised how well I seem to have done compared to some of the rest of you guys' first runs...And I'm not even a good Speedrunner. . :P Fastest I've ever done a speedrun was in Prime 1 where I beat it in ~4 hours (Don't remember percentage.)

Now to try Hypermode. :D

Still died first time against Dark Samus, so I don't know if it adjusts difficulty after a death or if I just better remembered how to survive. :|

Also, Mogenar sucks and is the only other place I died besides some carelessness on Bryyo when trying to abuse hypermode invincibility.

Well, based on the times listed here, which are seriously out of date because nobody uses the wiki anymore, it's the best normal 100% run so far unless someone's beat that time already.

Either way, it's still a great time. I could never do it, I know that much.

i think someone have already beaten this because i make many small mistakes, the route i use probably isn't the best and i have to beat berserker lord in elysia...but it would be great when it is the best time so far

Yeah i finally completed this:

Clear time: 17.31
67% items

Game was pretty easy. But many puzzles caused much troubles. I need use alot game faqs and still many puzzles caused much troubles. Luckily last boss was easy. Level itself was really nasty one. Especially last room before Dark samus. Very complicated puzzle and nasty time limit.

Yeah i probably go try Veteran mode next.

I don,t see much difference between normal & veteran mode yet. I decide try little bit more speed too. I got under 40 minutes landing on Bryyo on Veteran. This is not real speedrun, but i try remember more things.

Hopefully i don,t need game faqs again. Game faqs help me solved all difficult puzzles. It was my best friend my first playthrought. :D W/O game faqs this game took easily over 30 hours to beat your first playthrought. This is reason why my first completion was pretty fast.

Well, according to that you beat my personal Veteran best of 3:29, which was also a 22% run. Not sure if anyone else has passed that yet, but I'd imagine it's probably happened by now.

Edit: I just ran through this topic for a few minutes, and unless I misread something I think you have the new best time for Veteran mode. Seeing as it's been nearly three months since I did that run I'm very surprised at that to be honest.

It's mostly the normal route.

At Fiery Airdock I don't use the shortcut back to the ship but instead I open the ice door route. That way it's faster to get back after Ship Missiles. I also skip the first turret in Thorn Jungle.

In Elysia I use the Berserker Lord skip (PAL-version so I can't really skip him) but mostly I just use the normal route. It's pretty straightforward.

There aren't many routes from which to choose in Pirate Homeworld either. In the previous run, while getting Hazard Shield I decided to get back to the ship instead of using the "train" to get back to Command Center. I have no idea why I didn't do that earlier...

I can try to describe it better later, but now I'm in bit of a hurry.

A while back i got a 2:50 something in veteran mode any%. I think it was in the upper 50s though. If you follow my test run it is pretty much exactly the same way you should go through veteran mode just with a few tricks i missed. crap i just remembered that i never got the rest of the run up on youtube. It just ends before gandrayda. Nate did you by chance recieve my discs yet?

It took alot restarts and still i choose wrong way couple times but it never cost me very much. I trying avoid my big mistakes but yeah i don,t care my little mistakes. Example boss fights suck. Mogenar took whole 12 minutes here.

Yeah my time bit suck, but i am still happy with this. I don,t care much about my little mistakes. Some sequence breaks/speedtrick here. Example: jungle turret skip, elysia bersekker lord speedtrick, couple bsj shortcuts and Valhalla energy sell skip before pirate code

It is finally over. I have 4.57 before Phaaze. This mean my last fights was pretty fast. AU head was crazy. I have empty phazon metter when i beat AU-main phase. I was close deaths. I lose 75-80% my energys against head. Today i have good luck. I beat this my first attempt. I think i don,t never want touch hyper mode again. Just last boss is only reason with this. Overall this not too hard to beat hyper mode.

Low-% normal challenge interesting me or any-% normal speedrun. We can see.
