Well that was fun :P

14% in 9:54, Normal.

Defiled Shrine without super missiles was tricky :P Has anyone else done a 14% run?

Not to my knowledge. LeCourier(sp?) was working on a run, but I don't believe he finished it. You would be the first. Congratulations. I guess that 100% confirms 14% lol

lol. I saw that thread... I actually just randomly decided to go for 14% a couple days ago and didn't have any experience or knowledge aside from the Wiki's SW list (looked around for info on the forums a couple times but didn't find anything helpful til I finished, so I figured out a lot of stuff myself), so I found it sorta funny compared to LeCoureur making so many huge posts and testing and planning everything extensively and still not finishing. Oh well :P It'd be cool if I WAS the first to finish a 14%, though unexpected considering how long it's been known.

That wallcrawl into Sanctuary was a pain in the ass, having to experiment so much to figure out how to do it and floating up for 30 minutes every time I messed something up.

nice to see 14% being confirmed completely. i almost forgot about it.

is it possible to produce a fast run with 14% conditions or are the skips way too slow for a speedrun? i'm itching for a new mp2 run and no one has done one since DJ's 1:38.

I don't know of anyone else completing 14%. I'd be interested to know what the lowest non-float % is now. I'll also reiterate what I said on IRC, which is that it would be useful to have the route written up somewhere.

Good job.

Heres my fastest time.

I skip mostly all BA, PB, and Missile Expansion.
I'm still working on my MPT (MP1 version) Speedruns.

now we're talking.

1 minute faster than my best time. my time had a really bad early powerbomb expansion and general sloppiness since i wasn't recording. i'd say a good speedrun time should be 10 minutes faster.

You must was doing that Early PB (Secret World) before Torvous Bog?

yeah, i used the early PB before torvus. it speeds up a lot the later parts of the game like doing sanctuary in 1 trip before light suit.

1:51 33% Normal (4 segments)
2:39 100% Normal (SS)

Both used SWs, obviously. 3 of the 4 segments were because I screwed up two wallcrawls and had to reset, while the 4th was because I redid the final bosses once (the original time was 1:53).

For the 100%, I just quickly came up with a route, played through once to make sure it worked, then played it again and got that. I'd like to keep trying, so I'm sure that'll improve. On the plus side, though, it had the most hilariously bad Quadraxis fight ever. :P

wallcrawls are the #1 enemy of SS runs. i really want to see one of those but they look like a pain in the ass, especially in this game.
that 100% time looks like a good start. the current time at SDA is way too old by now.

I was recording it with ustream's recording feature (or at least was trying to). I'll definitely be recording any future attempts to DVD.

And it certainly wasn't the greatest run. It wouldn't suprise me at all if a great SS got around 2:15.

heh i somehow mixed that up. i thought you were recording to DVD.
yeah, 2:15 seems possible with the current route and much less mistakes. for a moment i thought the run wouldn't beat the 2:34 run but that's the new route's gain i guess.

i finished my trilogy mp2 run today and got this:

2:04 38% normal(easy)

my EI3 fight was bad but i'm pretty sure this is a high 2:04 so improving the fight would be useless because i can't reach 2:03 without the SA trick. sub 2 hours is doable with harder work since i had a few minutes of mistakes all over the run (had i known i could reach the sub, i would have worked harder overall lol. i expected 2:10 at best)

now my time in the GC version looks bad in comparison since it is just a mere 7 minutes slower and the wii version lacks all the instant unmorph based tricks.

edit: i had to redo the final segment because the audio cable decided to eat half of the audio. at least i got better fights but the window between 2:04 and 2:05 was very tight. i think i was like 10 seconds under 2:05 this time.

on a different note, i made a new escape sequence record in the wii version. 6:41:90 remaining on the clock. i recorded it. i wonder if i can submit that to SDA.
