I think some people are starting to do speed runs, so just post yer time, percent, and difficulty here. (Will somebody make this sticky?) So far the catagories are: Normal any%, Hard Any%, Normal 100%, and Hard 100%. Those are all natural route, and low% really ain't an option yet, but those are VERY subject to change. I'll start with a really bad time of 19:11, 87%, Normal.

Well, my first and only run so far is:

- 15:00
- 86% Items
- Normal

On the topic of a low percent run: That may take a while to get anything really good out of it due to the definite difficulty increase over Prime 1. (At least, im my opinion anyway: Doesn't mean I won't try one Wink)

Edit: Oh: And since I went back and got everything with this save file:

- 16:12
- 100% Items
- Normal

(I can't remember the exact time, but it was somewhere close to that)

What do you guys think would be a realistic time for a speed run?
Even if its pretty long would you be willing to record it all?
I know I don't speak solely for myself when I say I love watching these super fast videos.

Well I recall one person said they went through the game with a low percent and got like 5 hours or something. Now you have to take into account that people need to perfect rooms. People need to find time savers, and the fastest possible way through each room, and if all possible sequence breaks which are being tried and tested. However if you can get through at around 5 hours, then lower is possible. I'm sure for some time speed runs will be slow, and maybe the first early ones could be like 3 hours? Maybe? I dunno, just a rough estimate, some time like that.

I have two slight theories on the whole SB of MP2.. either it's not possible at all.. and they eliminated it fully..

Or it is, and they did put ways in, and they are harder, and maybe they are seeing if we can figure them out, without being all confused with the light and dark worlds etc.. and that the SB's require new moves and tricks. A few have already been developed anyways.. so who knows.. :p She will be broke! I hope =(

I guess these videos could be like the Ocarina of Time videos floating around.

If those who make the low% and 100% runs, even though they are long, post them in multiple parts then watching them could be really entertaining.  Especially for those of us who aren't as good at the game as the rest of you!  :D

Radix and Tim I think both finished theirs on Sunday.

This was also my 2nd playthrough; my first was 20:13, 94% scans, 92% items.

First run:
68% items
15:45 Time
Scan catagory's:

Biology:94%(not including dark samus forms 4-5, or emperor ing's forms.) (missed spider ball gaurdian, maybe some more creatures.)

Reaserch: 79% (maybe missed a few lores or logs somewhere, idk what this really stands for.)

Ing storage: 100%

When you scan an object, off to the lefti s a percentage that tells you what % of those catagories you have complete, I dont think this really helps at all. Unlike The first MP, You could go under the start menu, and check how many items, or creatures that still needed scaned. In MP2 That isn't possible.

Overall Scans I believe was over 80% sence I unlocked the gallery.

File A - First Run: 16:07, 93% scans, 96% items | Corrected First Run: 16:52, 98% scans, 100% items

File B: Current Hard Mode Run (@ final boss): 15:44 :(, 100% scans, 100% items

File C: Restarting a speed run since I royally screwed the last one up by getting lost again.

That's the lowest percent I've seen, Prime Hunter. Did you skip anything besides E-tanks and other expansions?

I still have not finsished the game once. But I think I will get 200%.

Wheeeeeeeeeee! Time to browse the Echoes board!

Anyway, I got an 80% in a blazingly fast 15:33! Apparently, I took 20 minutes from the final save. I missed ONE scan, but it's one of the final boss's, so I'm okay.

Just the three extra beam combos were skipped. And I only have 7 energy tanks, about 115 missiles, and the 2 power bombs from the original powerup. Still, it's nuts trying to take out the final boss with this...

Something tells me that the equivalent of kip's Prime 1:04 would be something like 3:00 for Echoes. There's no getting around it: this game is effin' huge.

I dunno, Prime Hunter has got 6:37 and that's kinda low, and it's very early still. And I'm guessing that the fastest way through each room and routes have not been formulated yet. So for sure it could be faster.. maybe your right, but I don't know.. this game doesn't seem that huge to me for some reason. Just annoying and at times, confusing. If 6:37 can be done so early on, I'm sure lower times will pop up. 6:37 is pretty decent so early on though.

I still need to defeat the final bosses too, so that will only go up by about 20 minutes by the time I can actually defeat them:

Forgot to mention that  I also picked up two beam ammo too

Huge as in the traversing of literally two worlds, it is. And I just want to point out really quickly that within a week of Metroid Prime's release, we were already seeing sub 4 hour runs (marshmallow got something like 3:58, and my first speed guide draft came in at a nice 3:36), so I don't want to make any premature calls. Certainly we won't be seeing anything like 1:37, unless by some freak chance we find a way to beat the game without entering dark Aether, heh.

I managed to defeat Hard mode finally:

- 7:01 (With 24 min being the final bosses)
- 51% Items
- Don't ask on number of continues...  Evil or Very Mad

Edit: I do however, have a few tricks up my sleeve for them when I face them again on Normal doing runs  Laughing

I'm not sure why but I posted this in the 100% topic last night... I got 5:53 100+100%.

In one day and 26 hours of awake-time I wrote a room by room walkthrough for 100% scans & items and sent it to gamefaqs this afternoon. Check it out!

Hee hee, yeah, the menus are pretty wonky. Not THAT bad, but...

Tim's still the only one with a guide who tells you how to GET the items, which might not be clear simply from reading this topic.

Yikes: I'm doing a speed run (And trying to FINALLY get 100% scans...) and this is my current situation:

- 1:09
- 10% Items (Also trying to get low % too)
- Just defeated Amorbis and need to take the energy back

Edit: The yikes part is since my first run took about 4 hours to get to this same point, story wise  Shocked

5:45 100%.  I know 4:xx (4: x x) can be gotten with the route I made, but if Radix can get 100% items and scans in 5:53, his route might be better.

Oh, I never posted my first completion thing.

Time: 18:36 or so
Items: 86%
Scans: 90%

Dunno the specifics of the items though. >_>
