I must say, <3 that awesome remix of Metroid Prime Essence. Anyways, heres my times.

Deaths: 16 (about 15 of them are from the stupid Piston tunnel >.<)

Man, was I just THAT bad my first time through with the whole "Death" thing? Closest I see to my 49 deaths is 34. There were a few times where I killed myself to start a boss battle over, but still... Embarassed

(Most of my deaths were to the later bosses if I remember)

battle complete, here are the results of my third run through the game (my second speed run):

Pretty good, IMO. I think I can do better, though. Note the

It's the freaking endgame topic, people, so don't worry too much about spoilers. Especially since if you don't get Gorea phase 2, you still get an entry for Gorea phase 1 battle time, which kinda reveals things.

I'm currently in the middle of attempting a 100% run, actually: So far I have roughly 34% of the game done after getting three octoliths. I did miss some items, and possibly some scans, from the first three areas though. It's not too bad, since we have to go to each location at least twice anyway.

Since scans factor into the percentage list, it looks like there won't be too many attempts at 100% from me. (Plus, that means that EVERY time you want 100% you need to do the 2nd phase of the battle) I want to do it now just to say I have, and to see if it unlocks anything else. (Doubt it, since I don't remember seeing anything in the guide that says so, besides getting a special emblem on your Hunter's License.) Anyway, once that's done I plan on running a flat out speed run/low percent run. Low percent is going to be a bit more difficult for this game due to the emphasis on action, at least for me.

Beating Gorea 2 unlocks some new movies. Including a better ending movie, where you get to see some Alimbians and also Samus with her suit off.

Personally, I think this Samus looks best in this game. Maybe it's just because of the better movie graphics, but I think she looks more realistic, because she is not super hot like in zm-fusion, because she is not cartoony like in echoes, and she just plain looks better than in prime. Anybody agree with me on that?

You know, I think I may agree with you on that one. Samus shouldn't look like a super model with the line of work she's in anyway, at least in my opinion.

Oh, and I have replayed the final battle to get to phase 2. I just wonder if there is anything else besides that emblem for getting 100%. Unfortunately, there seem to be quite a few one time scans, more so than in the previous games. (Not sure about this, but it looks like you have to scan EVERY Alimbic Artifact as well before you grab them. Either that, or you get the scan once you pick it up like the weapons. I haven't checked yet since my DS needed to be charged again.)

No, luckily you only have to scan 3 Artifacts. The first, second, and third on a level have separate scans.
