I personally don't think so, I aim just fine in the game.

yeah, IMO, this is the easiest one of all of them. Even zero mission is harder cause mother brain won't stop being a bitch whenever I battle her. aiwebs_027

edit: oh gawd, attack of the auto-censormabob.

Really?  Well, I can't aim.  Go me.

@ primetime: I find that funny.  The last time I died on Mother Brain on Zero Mission was...my hard 15%.  Other than that, never.  The last time I died on Hunters was on the second boss.  Was the first Metroid game you played one of the Prime's?  I wonder if the first Metroid game you play makes a difference.  My first was Fusion, and I'm a lot better at the 2D's than at the 3D's.

The first one I played was prime, but the first one that I really got into was zero mission. But for some reason i just have a hard time with mother brain.

That's rather interesting.  Although, maybe I only think that because I've beaten the Mother Brain so many hundreds of times, that with the Screw Attack, I could beat it with my eyes closed, and with full health and everything else, Gorea would probably pawn me.

Techinically the first time I played Metroid was the original on the NES, but I never actually owned the game (or the NES for that matter) and never got past getting the missiles (I was also in elementary school at the time. I finally did beat the original Metroid after unlocking it in Zero Mission). When the GBA launched though I played Fusion at store demos and when I finally bought a GBA the first games I got for it were Pokemon Sapphire and Metroid Fusion. From there I got Zero Mission, then Prime 2, then Prime 1. None of them were excessively hard for regular play (Hard 15% on Zero Mission was a bitch, but thats the only low% I've ever done), although they weren't push overs either. (All IMO, of course)

I improiving my Gorea battles about 25 minutes faster than my previous

GOREA 1: 41.11 minutes
GOREA 2: 06.21 minutes

This game is hard. I really wonder how is possible beat Gorea 1 less than 7 minutes.

My own are 41 minutes and my previous 57 minutes. i think i´ve never beat him less than 20 minutes.

I am amateur Hunters player. :|

Mine is 1:24. I think the word record should be something like just below 1 minute, 1:10...

Aaanyway, long time ago I beat this game again and beat my personal record just a bit:

19% - 1h:37m:45s
Gorea 1 - 3m:23s
Gorea 2 - 1m:30s

Hm!aiwebs_008

Wow.  If that was recorded, I think it would be the WR.  The lowest time I've seen other than that is 1:52:XX by Mr. Potter, I believe.

Whoah!  I've got to watch that.  Maybe after watching a few other speed runs on my "need to watch" list.  I wonder how low the human optimal would be?

WHOOOO I'm close! I didn't even use all the tricks, because my run is dated. I'm planning going for 1:33 or lower soon (holidays RULE  8-) )

Has anyone been able to capture any halfway decent video of any tricks or glitches with the DS lite? from what I've read the ds lite was supposed to be a big improvement as far as taking pictures /video was concerned. I don't have one (ds lite) yet, though. Would just be nice to see some since, well, I suck at trying to do this kind of stuff XD.

...He's talking about the Gorea 2 fight. My 1:52 was the entire game with 100%, and jackie's 1:27 was an any% run. How fast you can beat Gorea 2 has absolutely nothing to do with those.

Tahngarthor: I'd take a video if I had a camera. :P The problem is recording on the DS requires so many expensive supplies, and not everyone has the money for them.

Damn, I tried doing a speed run, and I beat all of you fools.

No, I'd never use such a barbaric form of cheating in a game as serious as this! D:

But that was actually a run through the game. Kinda. But I didn't just, like, change the numbers or anything.

Good. Because all your other times are pretty much terrible (besides Gorea 1). Now, can you tell us HOW you did it? (Photoshop does miracles eh  aiwebs_008  )

Either you did, or, as mightypoo said, you photoshopped it. >_> There's no way to get a 4 minute time. And even if there was, I doubt you'd go:

-5 hours 4 minutes
-4 hours 58 minutes
-4 minutes

>_>

lol, my favorite part about that pic is that 4+3 apparently equals 4.

But as for how I did it, there's an AR code to have all the planets unlocked, so I just put that in, started a new game, and went straight to oubliette. :p

And the reason my other times suck is cuz I've never really tried a serious speed run through the game. The times below were my second run through the game I think, and they're both the same run, just with an improved Oubliette+Gorea time.

AR codes can be fun to play with.  If anyone here hasn't tried it, I would suggest it.  Just don't "beat" the record with them and say it was legit.  Although in cases like this, it's easy to tell it was a joke.

I have just done a 1:18 Gorea 2 run, and plan on videoing it soon. I think I can get it down to 1:14, and will try to do so soon.
