For Speed Booster, you get it

after you beat Kraid.

I'm not sure about the Power Bombs.

I found the Booster without defeating Kraid, it needed some energy tanks and Gravity Suitless lava navigation in Norfair

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!

This is a remake of Zero Mission. Like in Zero Mission, you will not get Power Bombs until near the end.

Based on what I can see from the map, you're missing a few key items needed to get to Ridley's Hideout. (I just got there now)

You need to find the Wave Beam and Spring Ball. You might have seen the Spring Ball already even if you can't get to it, but you need Wave to get there. Wave is found beneath some fake lava, although it looks like you've already been down there even though a section of your map in that area is new to me. There's another spot of fake lava in the SE section of the map that will take you along the path to Ridley, but you need Spring Ball to get across some crumble blocks above a set of spikes. You'll know you're on the right path if you come across a large room with those plants that shoot spines at you that you'd normally find in Brinstar or Maridia in the original SM.

Giant Metroid = Death! I figure there's got to be something I'm missing in that room, but for now I'm stopping since I ran through the Pirate Ship, Chozodia, and Tourian Pt 1 for a bit before getting to this point.

Oh, and other than getting the Level 2 Locks, was there any reason to go through the portal behind Ridley at this stage of the game? I did a lot of exploring, but other than that it felt absolutely pointless, and those pirates got on my nerves QUICK when I couldn't even scratch or stun them.

UPDATE: I deactivated the Level 4 lock, for do this you're gonned some speed booster tricks if you wanna make sure the missile hits the switch.

I remember there is a way to disable that specific green laser, but I can't place where the switch is to turn it off. Pretty sure it's in that same room though, or close by at least. Sorry I can't help more.

Seeing as the Pirate Ship (before getting the Fully Powered Suit) was my least favorite part of this hack it makes sense though that I don't remember a lot of the specifics other than getting blasted to death at every turn.
