You can get through from the wrong side of the bars in Great Tree Hall, but it requires a very precise laddered double bomb jump, which can be very hard to get right until you've managed it a few times. The only advice I can give is to to plant your third bomb slightly lower than normal, and to do what's known as laddering the bomb jump, where you place the third bomb forward, so you're jumping toward the bars. The momentum launches you forwards instead of straight up, pushing you through the gap. A normal bomb jump doesn't have the speed, you will get stuck in the gap and fall back almost every time, unless you use boost ball, which can push you through. You can boost with a laddered bomb jump if you're still having problems.

You should try pushing forward pretty much as soon as the last bomb explodes so you get enough momentum to rocket you through the gates. It's more about the momentum than it is the height because I can do it with a "1bj", it's about the momentum so you don;t have to worry too much about the placement.

I started looking through the topic to see if my question had been answered, but I didn't really feel like reading 1700+ posts, though... so here's my question.

How in the world do you do Sun Tower without Spider Ball???  I spent 2 hours and wasted nearly 2500 energy (on my 100% attempt profile - I saved while doing it) in that stupid Sun Tower, and I succeeded at getting to the top only 4 times.  (AAAAHHHH!!!!)  I have all the normal "natural route" stuff before Flagghra, plus Space Jump (and, hopefully in the future, Ice Beam).  I can do the first part okay, the Infinite Bomb Jump part, but I don't know anything as far as where to place my last bomb, when to unmorph, what direction I should hold on the Control Stick after I unmorph, and if I press/hold any other buttons after I unmorph.  So basically, after the IBJ portion, I have no clue what to do... Embarassed  Can someone please give me some advice about this?  Or if there is another way to get the Artifact without using this method (through Secret Worlds or stuff), can someone please tell me?  Any help would be greatly appreciated and would save me hours of pulling my hair out!!

When the last bomb shoots you up (place the last one high) you need to let go of the control stick so you get the full height, then press upright and unmorph, and when you're infront of the ledge press forward.

I've realized if you try to unmorph when you're too high up, you'll get an instant unmorph and fall down the tower. So don't think that going up as high as you can will make it easier. Atleast this is the case for me.

IBBF is incredibly difficult so I recommend picking up charge beam and going for the health pickups like demonstrated here:

As for he combat dash itself, I highly suggest just getting a game where you have varia and practising the Dash + Quick Climb + other Dash. This is certainly the hardest rom but its also the room you can shave the most time off on.

Yes, my Wii does that a LOT too. I use my gamecube all the time and it's much more reliable.

I would like to ask a big favor. I am at the point where I'm trying to bomb jump past the gate in the Great Tree Hall and get to the spinner on the other side. But I just can't do it. I've been attempting for MONTHS (see above), but I just can't get past. Is there anyone that can do it for me? I'm using dolphin, so the save is easy to pass along, and the save is nearby. It's the only trick I can't seem to do! Thanks in advance!

You're using an emulator and can't do it? Does Dolphin have slow down and save states?

For my question, I didn't want to make a new thread and clutter up the main page, so here: Does anyone still have that video of someone, possibly DJ Grenola, attempting to do a 22% Geo Core and failing over and over, with O Fortuna as the background music?

Both frame stepping and save states are still buggy. Otherwise yeah I'd use them ;)

I can't seem to get the boost ball method for Hydro Access Tunnel to work in Trilogy.  Annoying, since it's the last step of the Gravity Suit skip.  Any tips?

You never need to go through the crashed frigate. You can pick up the early power bomb from Phendrana's Edge and then go through Phazon Mines backwards.

Hydro access tunnel is the same as in the gc version though. Just hit up then down, up then down while boosting until you fly down to the bottom. Took me a while to get it in the gc version but now I can do it easily. Just don't get pushed all the way to the top. Go right beside where you would get pushed up and do it from there. You'll only have to boost once instead of like four consecutive boosts.

FUCK YEAH! I got past the 5 bars in the Great Tree Hall, finally. Dolphin's frame stepping may not work, but the frame limiter does. I notched it down to the lowest setting, 20 fps, and then tried again for an hour. Thanks for all the tips here, they really did help.

I'm trying to prepare for a Varialess Magmoor Run with 5 energy tanks (b/c I really stink at it).  But I've got two problems: IBBF and the E-tank in Training Chamber.  1. I got into the Gathering Hall SW but I can't get any farther.  I started to head to Power Core, but I fell off of... something and ended up (barely) below the map.  Anyone know HOW IN THE WORLD TO DO IBBF???  2. Just to clarify with the E-tank in Training Chamber...  Main Plaza SW ->  E-tank by going through the ceiling -> Bomb-jump out -> Training Chamber SW -> Back out?  And since Piston Tunnel seems incredibly hard, does anyone have any awesome strategies for it?

On the latest page of the glitches topic, there is a nice description on how to get the energy tank in Training Chamber, if that helps.

This is the Trilogy version IBBF, but in the comments I have an awesome IBBF route I wrote up a while back.
The video should help too, I do it pretty slow.

Okay, i've been attempting to get early ice beam in the trilogy version (via SW of course), but the ghetto jump to the SW is driving me crazy. Is there another, more easily accessed SW I can use? Time isn't really a factor for me at this point so anything will work.
