In order: Morph (1%), Missiles 1 (2%), Bombs (3%), ET 1 (En route to Brinstar - 4%), Super Missiles (Mockball - 5%), Charge Beam (6%), Power Bombs (7%), Missiles 2 (Missile Lake - 8%), Super Missiles 2 (Left after Phantoon - 9%), Gravity Suit (10%), Varia (11%), ET 2 (Grey door after Kraid - 12%), Ice Beam (13%), ET 3 (After Ridley - 14%). Choosing the Speed Booster instead of the Ice Beam is also possible.
After trawling through 20 pages of people asking how to glitch through Zebetites I gave up looking for the answer to my question. So I'm just going to ask it.
How do you get the flashing Item Icons which use the item as soon as it can be used? (for example flashing super Missile Icon while shinesparking to wrecked ship)
Also is it easier to try and hit Phantoon with the Wave Beam Shield on the right or left hand side of the screen? I have around a 60% - 70% success rate with the right hand side of the screen, I was just wondering if I could get any help to make my success rate with the Wave beam shield >80%.
Last but not least. If I got a real time save state TAS completion time of 0:51 for a 100% speed run. what time you you think I could get for a SS 100% run?
To get flashing icons you just hold cancel and press the select button how ever many times to put it onto what icon you want, ie supers when going to wrecked ship.
Personally I like to hit phantoon on the left. But this is PAL. I think really the wave beam sheild success is down to your ability to follow through the plans you've made exactly, to get it to work on every attempt. That is; your positioning and your timing. imo the timing should be done using phantoon as the guide as he leaves the screen. Unfortunately it gets complicated as phantoons different eye opening positions grant different return swoop timings. So it's about knowing what eye open grants what timing and work your way from there. One way to do that is to practice on emulator going into phantoons room on every frame to give yourself the knowledge on all the different eye opening positions and see what timings they each offer. Tedius ? yes, but I don't regret doing that one bit as I now don't fail the trick hardly at all. No matter what phantoon does.
For the last question. I believe in a 100% if you get one time in a realtime TAS. it's possible to be about 1 - 2 minutes away on console in a SS. So roughly speaking you could get 53 I reckon

Wo, that seems a fair way off. I still have a bit of consistancy to get. But In the 2 weeks since my 0:57 I have learnt about 10 new tricks that I am trying to implement and get consistant. Your suggestions to me in the Best Times thread are pretty Much that basis of this.
I'm attempting a no save state or tools run of Super Metroid Impossible, but I figured that I'd get some more help here.
Let's say that you have 50 energy, three missile packs, one super missile pack, and spazer. How would you go about beating Phantoon without tools or save states? Basically, how do you defeat him without taking damage more than five times, and without a charge beam?
Well, without charge his sweeping attack is going to ruin you, so Supers are out, as they make him instamad. (Unless you're on PAL, in which case you can Super away, and hide in the corners to avoid it!) Stick with your Missiles. You'll usually get three in before he disappears, perhaps one or two more if you try to stutter your walk like the TASes. The rest of the time you'll just concentrate on refilling your health / Missiles from his flames. This hack is supposed to be hard, and drawn out boss fights is just another part of that. Also, if you like Phantoon, I hope you have a lot of patience, because most people grumble about Draygon killing their attempts to complete this hack.
Thanks for the tips, but how do you consistently dodge his attack in which he lets out that circle of flames from his eye? If I get hit by one of them, I take 60 damage, and there's no way I can collect three large energies before he does it again...
The only way that I can think of. (mind you it is very hard to do). is to try and predict when it is going to happen and shoot a missile/beam over his eye so when the flames come they are all killed instantly. It sometimes happens to me accidentally when playing the normal game.
So if the flames have the same hit points in impossible this might be your best chance. But then again this could all be bollocks.
Luck plays a part, as he can always appear right on top of you, which makes it almost impossible to do anything about. I tend to just stick to one side of the room, occasionally changing as I run across to collect items. His fireballs always circle clockwise, so if you're on the left, keep firing to the right, and if you're on the right, keep firing up. This way you have more chance to 'kill' the fireballs as they spin toward you. you may also find crouching helps, as if he appears near you, and you're hemmed in, you can quickly morph and move.
Howdy. I am havin a pal version cartridge of this great game. I happen to own it only for a few hours now, actually the game is playbe for a few seconds. On the station of Ceres, there´s a very weird glitch bugging my gaming experience there. Whats the problem, so: I am jumping down from the very first elevator in the game, when I am actually ear the first door, Samus will fall through the floor and will respawn at the up of the screen and keep falling through and respawning. I have cleaned the cart, the system too, deleted all saved files, restarted the game, but this hellish annoyance prevails on feasting on my nerves. Does anybody know what can be the root of my problem here and how to unroot it? Something similiar happend to my Super Mario World, when Mario instantly dies, as he enters the chamber of the first boss. Can there be problem with my snes? But the carts without savin utility, namely Earthworm Jim and Zombies doesent exhibit this problem. Please, when you happen to help me, email on my user name. Thanks a lot!
Try using the Cartridge in other Snes console and see if the problem persists, it could be an issue with your Snes. If the problem persists in other consoles, it will probably be your cartridge's fault.
Is it just the floor? Can you jump over the invisible "gap" and continue? And when Samus falls down through the floor, does she start to pass through the walls and everything (after "respawning" at the top of the screen)? Sorry for all the questions, just trying to understand the problem.
Well, the problem is, I dont own another SNES console and I also know of no one in vicinity to possess one as well. What could it practically be? I cleaned the SNES slot, as well as cartridge with glass cleaner. Could it be loose pin inside of my cart slot? Or could it be corrupted SRAM? Could my SNES cause corruption of cart´s SRAM when I was erasing saved games?
This same glitch can happen in Maridia on the PAL version. The large room before Botwoon with the save room on the left, when you run along the sand at the bottom. I'm not sure what causes it but sometimes if run fast over the first bit of quicksand and begin the little stretch on the normal part where the ground dips slightly, samus can do the same glitch and the only remedy is to reset the game. I'm afraid I can't help you identify exactly what the problem is though
What happens if you try to hold right? Can you wall jump off the wall and get through the door? I've never encountered a glitch like this before, but if you were running on an emulator, it would seem like someone turned those blocks into air blocks. Maybe there's some cartridge error that will do the same thing.
No emulator, original pal cart, in unusally good state though.
Could it be loose pin in cartridge slot? Or maybe something with SNES hardware...Or SRAM. Hell, so many things can cause this. I would really like to know what should I start to repair...
There are probably a number of things that could cause it to happen, but the fact that you said it also happened in Super Mario World would lead me to believe that it's the SNES, not the game.
