always move fast
morph ball, missiles, bombs, varia (if you choose not to get it, it gets added anyway when you get the fully upgraded suit), powergrip, ice beam, 3 unknown items.

and its the same for normal.

note: make sure to activate the ziplines in kraid, because you cannot get out otherwise without a spineshark, which you cannot do.

Personally, the lack of missiles isn't what makes low% hard, it's the lack of E-Tanks that gets me....

Heh. Other way entirely for me. I love using the beam, and against bosses, Id much rather be able to take a few hits than lower him to half health in 3 seconds and then die.

I definitly go for missiles, all you have to do is avoid getting hit. Mecha Ridley my only problem, cause its hard to kill him fast enough, though on 9% (or 10% on Hard) youve no choice, but its not to hard.

BTW, dont do low% on easy, because the endings always the same, and not to many people are impressed by it.

I was thinking more in terms of 9-10% since in that case you can't take many hits and you have a max of five missiles. In that context my earlier post probably makes more sense.

In most runs I agree that E-Tanks are expendable, I don't grab a whole lot of them in my runs.

it takes practice and skill. lure them to a place where they have to crawl to get to you. from there you can bomb the hell out of them.

I still don't think a morph ball run is possible on normal thanks to the beam dudes, but I suppose if you're lucky you can pull it off. be sure to save at every save point.

I got the unknown item in Crateria and right after I got the Power Grip, but of course, it seems that is what you needed to get in order to get the ice beam.
