That's a stupid argument.  Disc size is irrelevant.  You're going to need compression whichever way you go, so it'll just be a case of more compression or less.  Metal Gear Solid 4 wouldn't fit on a 50GB Blu-Ray disc, so would they rather it wasn't released?  No, instead, it had parts cut out.

Potentially fucking awesome parts as well. Imagine if every game could live up to all the ideas the creators had for it. Games would be very different.

EDIT: Apparently, a lot of content has been cut from FFXIII. Maybe we'll see a FFXIII-2 somewhere down the line.

It is a good game and something to think about in addition. The gameplay-aspect is designed with pretty much brain used in several aspects, not just one. A.I. design is top-notch and it has a good flow. Only few games out there can claim that. Proove it wrong for yourself. You will fail.

AI varies from braindead to cheap in MGS4. Flow is broken by incessant cutscenes for NO REASON (Johnny crapping his pants - most unneccesary thing in any game ever) and installation screens.

Don't get me wrong, MGS4 is great, I love it. But it pales in comparison to other MGSs and most other 'great' games.

Also, let's keep this thread on FF as much as possible, eh, Snake?

Ok, but go and learn MGS. You are just not on the right scope. No game is perfect, except it is designed by me.

Are you for real?

Anyway, has anyone seen The Spirits Within recently? I remember watching it as a kid and being blown away by the animation but having no grasp on the story whatsoever.

FF and MGS are literally the same game.

In that case.

Hey J-SNAKE. Shut up. I've played all the games, analysed their themes and messages, took from them all I could both in terms of being a videogame and a tool to convey a message. MGS4 is not as good as the others, you will never make a perfect game, and start saying things in a coherent way that can be understood by people who aren't in a transient state of drug-induced lucidity.

I have never claimed it to be better or worse.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I was wondering whether anybody had ever discovered anything in the series that relatively few people are aware of, or has not seen in any guides.

Mine would be in Final Fantasy 7, when you reach North Corel.  You're supposed to head up to the Gold Saucer, but if you exit to the world map, you can walk on a small piece of land that juts out to the north of the Gold Saucer desert, and you can encounter Harpies, thus obtaining Aqualung early.  You normally have to wait until you're dumped there from the Gold Saucer.

I had to watch it twice before the story made sense, and each time I watched it after that it made more and more sense. I'm probably one of the few who liked that movie.

Ha! I didn't think anyone still remembered that movie! It's got the weirdest plot I've ever seen in a movie... I don't even want to start talking about how it has any relationship to the game series, it's just not worth it.

Yay, I finally finished FFIV: The After Years! (I know, I'm slow) So, what side stories are worth buying because I'm not paying 3000 Wii Points for everything (except if they are really good) I'm pretty sure I should get 'The Crystals' seeing that's the continuation of the first part. Any more suggestions?

EDIT: FF2 is now on Virtual Console for 800 Wii Points! I'm not sure if I'm going to buy this but it might be good to go to the roots of the series.

Well actually, it's FFIV, not II, but who the hell wants that version anyway? The translation sucks and the game was pussified in its North American release. I doubt they would redo all of that on the VC release, so stick with the GBA version if you ever get an urge to play that game.

And on a side note, FFXIII just got released, whoop-de-doo...

I always found the blue mage class to be a pain in the neck. Getting all of the good abilities is extremely guide-centered and tedious.
