whoops, users didn't have permission to edit their own posts, thanks for letting me know. should be fixed now; just click the little pencil icon beside the date at the top of your post. the quote button's there now too.

Quote from Poision Envy:
Any chance the "Click here to see unread replies to your post" link will be brought back?

sounds like a good idea to me. in the meantime, you can request email notification for topics you want to pay particular attention to by clicking the little down arrow beside the topic title when inside the topic. then just check "Notify me of new posts in this topic". also, there's also still the normal unread posts view.

the little samus icons will be back soon, don't worry. :)

Are we going to have the favorite Metroid part of profiles again?

I like this quick reply post thing, but I would rather have it stuck at the bottom of the page than floating around with me.  Also, do you think you could have it carried over with all your text between pages of a topic?  That might make quoting multiple people over different pages easier.

EDIT: I'd also like it if the bar at the top with all the board names was down along with profile and appearance.

The img and url tags don't seem to be working, despite the fact it says I can use BBCode. Throwing that out there.

I am dubious about the new forum, but that's mainly my pseudo-autistic paranoid fear of change rather than any rational faults that I have found. At least it looks like M2K2, and not a different site entirely.

It'd be cool if the index would show the users currently browsing any forum category. A forum I frequent to used to have this feature and it was pretty awesome.

Where am I?
Wow, I was trying to figure out how to post for about 20 minutes. Seemed someone cleared my computer history so I wasn't logged on. Also, where are the smileys at?

I found one suggestion for the new forum. If your posting a new message in a topic you should be able to switch pages in the topic while posting. So far I like the new forum. Great job.

I think it would make sense to have the board names in the view unread posts thing be linked to said boards. Maybe that's just me.

Also, while archeon said that several people are having this problem, I figured I'd mention that I can't access any boards; I get "error loading template: HTML::Template->new() : Syntax error in  tag at /home/styles/styles/homebrew/forumtemplate.html : 63. at /usr/local/share/perl/5.10.0/HTML/Template.pm line 2329." when I click a link to one.

I also don't have any options other than the forum theme under appearance.

One other thing I figured I'd mention: at least on the homebrew theme, the user names do not align properly with the arrow thingies in the user panel.

Wait, there's no preview button?!

Yeah, subforum access is broken under Homebrew. I've been trying to reach nate for 4½ hours about that. Wake up, you cock.

At first I thought that something went wrong with the forum when I loaded it up a minute ago, but now I understand. It could have helped if we knew this was coming, but it's not much of a problem. It'll definitely take some time to get used to this, and since it is new things are likely going to change around here based on feedback.

Not completely sure how much I like this change at the moment, but given that I've only been using it for about 5 minutes or so I can't really say either way just yet.
What are exactly those groups like "e pluribus unum" ?
What happened to the signatures ?

If you want my opinion, the visual layout isn't very straightforward. Can't tell for the features, but I miss the old forum with at least one more color than black and white, big buttons, ...

Hmm... that's twice now I've gotten a message saying that "A Database Error has Occurred" but I have no idea if that's something to do with the new forum or just me. I don't ever remember seeing that with the old forum though, and I have no idea what it means for this one as I don't see anything happen after I close the message.

It's strange that I'm now using a brighter style than I normally do (Taiga Blue) but the other ones I tried didn't feel right to me either through minor changes between the styles or else because of the colors used for them. (I haven't looked at the other Taiga ones though, so that's only regarding the other three styles.)

Wow. This is quite a cool forum. Took me by surprise that the site updated (it also explains the 169 or so "New Topic Reply" emails in my junk folder (don't ask why they went to junk)). Still, very swish.

Oh, also, is the "View Unread Posts" page for topics you've posted in, new topics that you've not read, or both?

It almost looks like it updates in real time like everything else though: I left my computer on the forum homepage for a few minutes and came back with it saying there were three unread posts. I didn't reload the page at all when I came back.

everyone who couldn't log in: try again now. should work. also use your display name and not your username. usernames are gone for good.

Quote from Toozin:

no more "last visit". it never forgets which posts are unread. if this bothers you just hit the "mark all read" button. it's free and easy!
