yes i got round to putting the effort in to release a demo, my game time for the demo was around 0:30 mins, playing leisurely, and the demo ends at spore spawn, enjoy ppl!

btw : for headerd roms.

any comments/bug reports, just post in this thread.

EDIT: the ips is now a hell of a lot smaller, because i removed a header before, it messed with it.

I tried extracting with 7-Zip and got an error message saying "CRC failed in 'super metroid x investigation(demo).IPS'. File is broken."

I tried running it anyway and the emulator said it was corrupt and couldn't play.

7-zip extracted it just fine for me.

I played for a little while and got killed by a blueish pirate, not sure if there's more e-tanks around or what. There's a whole lot of open space in the beginning, which is kinda cool and also a little tedious to run through for like 10 minutes. I'll give it another go later on, but I did notice a couple 1x2 positions to get stuck in pre-morphball.

Man that file is huge! I think you might have half the ROM in there somehow, or did you expand the ROM like 30 times and put lots of data there?

i have no idea tbh, i thought the same thing, i used lunar ips and smile and they both gave the same result, i've also never expanded at the current time so....

edit: i added a header and the file was significantly changed.

I just found a few places you can get stuck though if your not careful. Some, like the two lock high parts are obvious avoid, but there's 2 that any player would get stuck in.

I had found a lot of those in my hack as well but I took my time to fix those; It's not necessary but it would help with a lot of frustration for the less experience players.

doesnt matter. I lured an atomic there and froze it.

I think i finished the demo. I killed spore spawn, and everywhere i go now that I can think of leads to a dead end. I went up to theta deck, and down to where i got ice and found an original room.

BTW did you change the falling speed? It seems a LOT faster when I fall.

yes the falling speed has been changed and it gets faster the more you fall, also yes insanely quick mid air morph required, gonna remove it in the easy version though Very Happy

For those kind of quick midair morphs, I find it easier to to do a running spinjump instead of doing it from standing still. Also you can use a walljump morph as well, which is ~~fairly easy~~ as long as you get the timing for the walljump as low as possible.

Edit: actually, when thinking about it, the walljump method has a very limited timing window for the walljump. I only got consistent with it by a lot of practice, so it's probably more difficult than the normal method. But, it's still an alternate way of getting through >_>

is it the fact that i realesed and abandoned the old one to make this one?
or is it the fact that theres no teaser video?
i dont know but i really would like people to play the full version when its released lol, so that people can apreciate the work that im putting in to it.

also all feedback will be appreciated becase it can help me make a game that all people can enjoy.

Most people probably won't play it because they want to wait until the final release; or because they don't want to be so excited for it to come out for so long *cough* Aegis *cough*, or that they worry it might be abandonned.

EDIT: ok so ive never used windows movie maker for making a vid for youtube and i have no idea on how to get a zmv into windows movie maker for editing. help please Embarassed
