Were can i get any of the origenal sound effects for super metroid?
(Im makeing my own metroid game for computer. :) )

Please help.

I couldent find it there. i dont know how to hack roms or stuff like that. i mean like in a zip folder some .wav files or midis/mp3 files from metroid.

could always download some runs from sda and cut out sound effects from parts when the music is quiet.

You can try to playback the original sound-files of the game (.spc-files). They are similar to Midis but with the original instruments used in the game. Because of this every .spc-file is exactly 64,5 KB big no matter how long it is. This allows you a quick download of all tracks. Get them on:

or alternatively: http://www.zophar.net/zsnes/spc/metroid3.rar

You also need a player to playback them. I highly recommend the "SNESAmp". It is a simple plugin for the famous audio-player "WinAmp" wich allows you to playback them on this player. You can get the plugin along with other possibilities to playback .spc-files on:

he needs the sound effects, not the music, unless you mean that the sound effects are also included in the .spc.

Oops my bad. They haven't captured the sound effects but it is possible to capture them in a spc as well. You can do it yourself in ZSNES if you have the ROM. To capture them press "F1" right after a shoot or what sound-effect you wish to have, and in next window on "Save Spc Data".

I dont want to go through that crap. just a simple zip folder with files. well i got droven insane by the word Rom-converter and stuff like that! every time i've posted this, reply:Use the rom and spend 9999999999999 years learning that useless junk just to get some sound effects.

I'll just wait untel i get my PC in my room. then i can use my sound recorded in front of my TV.

Unless anyone finds a zip folder of either- Wav/mp3 files no real need to reply. i need 3 music sounds from super metroid. but i have the other ones. i created 10 new suits!

shadow missile. does masive damage
Net. you can get money. and well you'll be able to catch small creatures and sell them at space pirate stores. (Non evile spacepirates! i remade new ones with a greyish blue color.)

Morphball adds:
boost ball
Morph ball mines.
morph ball bouncey bombs.
and a drill to dig in special grounding.

new beams:
Laser beam.
Flamethrower.
AND the little yellow things space pirates shoot. electricle french-fries? lol.
Arcade beam.
phason beam.
negetive beam.

any ideas? If so, please PM me.

I havent realy started much yet. just trying to make samus jump without geting stuck. every time it changes you can easly see the effect. The gamemaker i use is mainly for 2d games as im makeing. or mario games. everyones always makeing stupied mario games.

I dident mean mario is stupied. I just said that cuz its all everyone talks about in toher forums. thx for your good efforts of trying to help everyone! :D

I made 3 new vehicles for samus. same colring as my new gravity suit meterial in my sig. A hover cycle (Small enough to be used on the planet.) a giant hovering michane. (Made for going out in space. you can leave the planet whenever you want to. just you cant go far from it. and theres no saves ins space.) and a drill vehicle to drill large holes under special ground.

since its a commedy game mixed with seruisnes. you can go around talking to space pirates. (ones that dont even know of samus) and join them in war against the origenal colored space pirates. and you can buy and sell at stores. and atempt stealing. you might get cought stealing randomly. then pay a 300 point fine. and pay the low price of the object.

and i apoligeize for all my misspellings. im typeing in a hurry. i cant edit anything right now cuz im geting my PC moved soon, and i backed up my stuff on other computer so i cant edit or will have to add new files to the other computer every 2 seconds. 1.37GB of data of suff for my metroid game. my PC is ofcourse very damageuble. dont wanna loose my work! :D

I'm already eager to see this thing. I'll even rip the sounds for you myself, if it'll help you make it faster. Good God, playing Metroid game with all that suits, beams and vehicles is going to be my sweetest gaming experience for the last six months!

P.S. And yeah, ROM stuff is easy indeed, as you don't have to hack nor disassemble it, all you need to do is capture the sound in .spc with an emulator and then recode it to .wav via foobar2000 or winamp's diskwriter plugin. That doesn't require any special knowledge, just a mere understanding of what you're doing.

Wow! thx for your entrest! now im even more seruis about it. once i stop samus from geting stuck whene jumping i'll put up the demo. all i have is the sprites and tiles. i havent animated the suits yet but thats gona be easy just take 20 mins for each simple suit.

Why i have so many suits?
I was talking about makeing the game to my cousin. i said im not gona put in more suits. then he said 'then it wouldent realy be a metroid game. (Which i still dont understand how?) so i got pissed off and made 10 new suits! :D

might not be done for up to 6 months. most likely itl be done around 2 months. im also adding alot of mini games. and im gonna make it very long. with my new storyline i'll make up some time soon!

I just got an idea for my game! since you can get creatures and breed them then sell them. i'll make it so you can keep pets. And! i'll create a new creature. the most undeadly. the star of the metroid. A "HOUSE METROID" PET! if you dont give them food every hour they'l start eating your house at the planet. (Your ship turns into a gaint house after landing.) and the metroid will go around eating all your stuff if u dont feed them. AND! if you put them in a glass tube! space pirates will bring you to jail for anmal cruleity....! and then once you break out they'l say SAMUS ESCAPT! then you have to say:O uhhh.. im not samus. im uhhh... someone! someone else! First name:someone last name:else ! then the space pirates will say o ok. were just gonna leave now. and then leave the area.
