I dislike using it to play games but watching smv's on it is no problem. snes9X 1.43 v17 is the exact emulator you need though if that's any help. v13 also works too, according to the requirements on the TAS videos link.

You just go onto File, Movie, play movie and then click on the browse tab to search for wherever you put the smv file on your computer. It's honestly not that hard. It's better to have learned it once and get it rather than to never bother and assume it's a big deal when it really isn't.

I had the wrong version (again) of snes9x, so I went to their official site to download the newest version, and they don't even have it! So I did some searching and found a link, but when I went to run it, it said that a file was missing. It was just too much hassle.

All of the videos on TASvideos detail which version of the emulator you need, but it's usually easier to just wait for the encode. I've been watching this run for a while, and it is fantastic, even after a few views. I was hoping for brilliance, and when he grabbed the ET in Blue Brinstar, I was hooked.
