Just got space-time beam to work. Forgot to keep the ice beam equipped. For the record, if the ice beam isn't equipped, this doesn't work. I bet that was already known, though.

No idea,
But unfortunaly I think, that Nintendo wants to use the same strategy like in the US: To release Super Metroid near the release of Metroid Prime 3.

Cause normally european VC-Games were always released earlier than in the US IIRC ( e.g. Metroid, F-Zero X ) and we all know, that is is not the case now.

Finished my first run of the VC Super Metroid, in a leisurely 42 minutes. The controller definitely affects me, and of course not playing the game much for a year didn't help. The game seems to be 100% normal, with all the glitches working. I did have one odd thing happen though - when boosting up the long vertical escape shaft at the end (from the original Metroid), I flew right through the very last blue ledge in the upper right corner. I don't think that happens in the normal version. I've played the game enough times that I'm pretty sure I would remember if that was normal. Has that happened to anyone else? I don't think it means that the game has been altered- the genuine version isn't exactly glitch free, so it could've just been a "normal" random glitch.

Depending on your height, you can go through those platforms.

If you just spark straight upwards without jumping, you'll go through the 1st platform, but not the last.
If you jump a few pixels, you might hit the 1st platform, or you might skip the last one
