It was mentioned on the Wii Shop channel that super metroid will be available on VC on the 20th. They also released a downloadable preview on the wii shop channel for MP3 which has a short gameplay video and a trailer.

-edit- I guess this was also mentioned in the MP3 section. -.-

Meh. I won't buy it. I have the game on my Snes so yeah.
And it and my Wii is connected to the same tv.

Though I wish Nintendo added super metroid hacks. Lol >;D

I would have bought it if it was the NTSC version, but apparently Nintendo decided to give EU one last kick in the crotch and give us the butchered version again.

Ha, Nintendo is a word in Mozilla's spelling check program :)

I'm gonna buy it just so I can use a good controller to play the game finally.  My SNES controllers always fail me at the wrong times.

Sadly you are probably right, I'm still waiting for Super Paper Mario...
Luckily they are not as bad as Sony though,  "Europa don't need a price drop, they actually buy our shit anyway"

hm i heard importing can save people's sanity....
but only in some cases.

also, SPM is not that great. i played PM64 on VC recently and i noticed that it had something that SPM lacked (hint: it's feeling related)

I never possessed a SNES so I'll certainly buy it, since I never really played it ( tried out on an Emulator, but it just does not have THIS feeling...)

I am really looking forward to this piece of videogame-history and I hope, that it will be released this friday in Europe.

I think that anyone who have not played this game yet and are going to buy it now should do a 14% run before they try anything else.

It's almost time! I don't know one person with a Wii that won't buy Super Metroid. It's going to be the #1 downloaded game by tomorrow, I guarantee it.

That's because far to many did not realize this games greatness untill a couple of years after it was to late, now it's finally going to get the attention it deserves.

tehy have said they havent made any gameplay changes to any VC games. That said there are visible changes, such as the "Hold reset when turning off the power" messages for NES games with save memory being removed in NES zelda.

I'm in the middle of a run at the moment: Everything I can do on the SNES version I can do here: Mockball, Kraid Quick Kill (First time I've ever done it, funny enough)

Walljumping is a bit harder for me to pull off with the classic controller, but I can still do it most of the time. Probably because I'm not used to the Classic Controller as much as the SNES Controller or something.

But as far as I can tell, everything we know and love is still here.  Download away! grin new

Hi, I'm new here, but anyways,

I downloaded it and am playing it right now, the mock ball trick works and I'm sort of on my way to doing the NBMB run (as best as I can anyways). Nothing should be altered in the game, should it?

I was able to play the entire way through and do everything exactly the same way as if I was playing on the SNES. Nothing changed at all as far as I can tell. (Except that I had a little trouble performing the Walljump with the Classic Controller, but I don't think that's the controller's fault.)

I think my slightly slower time on the Wii compared to my SNES runs is due to not being as comfortable with the controller, so if anybody else is like me don't be surprised if you're run is slower overall the first time on the Wii.

I like Big Butts and I can not lie
I wouldn't be surprised if the space-time beam worked just like on an emulator

Downloaded! I finally get to play Super Metroid! I'm using the Gamecube controller, very hard to wall jump with the analog stick but I can use the D-pad for that. I'll get a Classic Controller very soon though.

I've just started playing today, and I got Super Missiles right after normal Missiles and Morph Ball Bombs, is that normal or is the game just that freeform? (I'm not intentionally trying to do anything fancy here)

If you fought a mini-boss to get the Super Missles you're doing it "normally".

So are we allowed to do speed runs on the wii version?? My controller has slight issues and I would like to have one in perfect conditions to play.
