Sorry ^^ I should've mentioned it's temporary. I work at a Lan House, and not always i remember to bring useful stuff on my pendrive, so i simply downloaded the first emulator i've found.

Never mind. Would you try to do my special missile room glitch?

Darn.  Sorry for not knowing where to look but... Has a TAS been done for this yet?  Or is one in the works -maybe?

This is a great hack.  Seeing how it was meant to be played -in an over the top TAS fashion- would seriously rock.

Thing is, i did not search for someone who could do it. I did it myself while tinkering on speed runs.

Anyway. My method sucks because another gamer did it in a more effective way.

We can return now to the Cliffhanger topic.

We can??  Sweet!! laugh new laugh new

I can give my progress report then....  Here's a screenshot of everything I've got as of right now.  I can probably challenge the final boss character right now but there are things holding me back from that now.  I'd like to find more items and I think there's at least two lore I have yet to find.  I think I can beat this one anytime between now and a week from now.  grin new

I figure I gave Bioniclegenius probably a couple weeks to catch up (inching my progress), as he gave me a couple weeks when I was facing Ridley.  I figure it's fair that I did that, after all.  Cool

Using the map is useful, remember.  Aarrgghh, no thumbs up smilie, this'll have to do:  Cool

*begs the administrators for a thumbs up smilie*

After the Shocked of getting mockballs to work when picking Speed Booster, i'm stuck on the short room where you need to use shinespark (left from Juolbrin > Keruarn elevator.

I've read about both Short and Quick Charge, but none (even both combined!) could help me there.
Is it about practicing or...

Could you attach a screenshot so that we can help you quicker? Very Happy

If you're where I think you are (to the right at the top of the elevator, through a small hole in the wall), then you're in the right place.  The only thing you really need to remember is that the blocks in front of you aren't speed blocks, and aren't destroyed by your boost.  You need to charge near the wall, morph, roll to the right, and then spark straight up.

EDIT: Attached an .smv for clarity.

It shouldn't take too much practice.  All you do is take a step forward before pressing the run button.  Test it with different timing.  Start with a fairly early press of the button, just before Samus's foot hits the ground.  If you fail, try it slightly later.  you'll soon get it.  I wouldn't try doing what I did before you get used to a normal short charge.  I use a bit of stutter-walking to charge sooner.

And, of course, you should be pressing down at the last possible second before the wall, to allow yourself the maximum time to charge the boost.  Good luck! aiwebs_011

[EDIT] Not at all! DMantra is a bit sadistic! Whenever you get through an impossible challenge, he drops another one, ever worse! How is the workway of the MiniKraid's room ball trick on the crumbling floor?

Yet more mockball, I'm afraid.  This time, you just need more precision.  Use the small plant just before the log as a marker. Very Happy

You *may need to reload to where you were before you got in that room, or if you can go back out through the diagonal speed blocks you went through that are in the ceiling.  It might also be possible to machball up and out to the left....  But I've never had any luck with that.

When I said "May"...  need to reload...  There was one block -even though I went through it- I didn't destroy it.  So I couldn't go back down to get the Reserve tanks.

And just in case you didn't know how to deal with that room...

When you mockball into into it and bust through the 1st set of speed blocks - you'll need to hold jump (off the ground) so you go back up and to the left to bust the other speed blocks - so you can get out (easier).

Edit: I'm sure you have the screw attack...  You'll need it to open the door. ;-)

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
When playing the game, I use ZSNES, simply because it's what I'm used to.

For playing / recording movies, I use snes9x, which is what those .smv files are for.  The main problem you'll run into are synching issues (where it gets out of time and appears to do random stuff), which is usually a case of using different versions of the emulator.  I'm at work, so I'm not 100% certain, but I think it is snes9x v1.43 with improvemet 12. Eh?

Did, beat Kraid, got Ice, then i could get the missile in the blue room with immobile seahorse creeps. Challenging, but easy to guess what to do.
Now i have this: can't figure out what to do next! I have the map, but it seems like i'm stuck forever in this area. I can't return to Surripere because the elevator's stuck below super missile blocks. And there's no super missile pod around!
What am i supposed to do next?

Follow these screenshots in order:

Above the lift that you speak of, jump from shot one, to shot two.  Once inside, ask the dead marine for directions. Wink

You can walljump there? Damnit, I've always had to IBJ up to that platform. Not a quick process.

I think you can walljump up there only in the easy version. In the original(hard) version you have to walljump on the right wall and then do HBJ to reach the door or you can do IBJ from the bottom of the room.

Yeah, my bad.

It's because I kept switching between the two versions to get there quicker to help!  I forgot to re-enter after switching back to the original. Embarassed

You need to do one of the two mentioned above.  In my opinion, IBJ is much quicker, as getting a HBJ within the first few tries is unlikely.

For me, getting an HBJ at all is unlikely. It's one of the few SM tricks I really can't do, even if I can in ZM.

You could bomb jump from the elevator to get up there. It would take more time, but it works and is far easier.
