I have 2 E-Tanks to face Crocomire. To defeat him I'm going to have to shoot those things he spits at you.... aren't I? aiwebs_003

Unless I should have a 3rd E-Tank that I missed. :-?

Walljump on his belly or just make crouch jumps. you shouldn't have any health problems if you do so. I think 2 E-tanks is the most you can have at that point without SB's.

Weird, that should be changed. If someone misses it, it would be pretty much impossible to progress after you are supposed to get the morphball. Collecting random missile pack probably won't seem like such an obvious solution...

I wonder what interesting route could come out of this, since speedbooster can be taken so early so could Supers and IIRC PB's...

Beat it finally. I had a lot of fun playing this one, though I know I didn't get the true item progression right. I had Supers for Phantoon.

Well go to LN. At this point though you could chose to go to any of the 3 remaining main bosses but LN will probably be the easiest.

What are the four tanks I'm supposed to have? I got the one on the way to WS, the one on the way to the first mini-boss, and the one right after the first mini-boss. I'm in the bubble room with three. Am I screwed? Am I going to be able to get out (keeping in mind that I suck at suitless Norfair)? Am I not supposed to be leaving Norfair yet?

ok, thats not good....

The 4th energy tank in room after grapple, you can't get it from where you are though...

And no, if you have amazing skills, you can get out with three. I tested it with three, and later found out you could get 4! You'll just need to hit alot of things for health... or start over!

Gah! I get to the last room on the way back to Brinstar but... How am I supposed to get up to the door?

I have 4 E-Tanks, and the Ice-Beam.

I'm going to die if all it takes to get out of it is expert wall jumping abilities. Those are too small -IMO. Embarassed

Well, turns out I thankfully had a pre-Norfair save. I know I get two tanks in Norfair, so I need two pre-Norfair. I have looked everywhere. The only one I can find is the missile lake E-tank. I feel stupid as I am missing something. I looked around near where I got grapple but found no e-tank.

Another hint? I'm not even coming close to escaping Norfair with three. Frankly, I'm worried I won't even be able to do it with four.

Edit: Never mind. I see what you meant by your hint now. I found tank #4.

Edit2: Any hints or tips for Ridley? I am getting my ass handed to me on a platter.

Exactly. I didn't know how to get to Varia that early (still don't). Anyway, I decided to forego Ridley for now. I'm currently saved at the ship with 5 tanks, 70 missiles, varia, ice, spazer, grapple, morph ball, high jump and speed boost. I may go explore WS again next.

So, what exactly is the intended order for early items?

I assume its not the order I got:

grapple
missles
morphball
varia
speedbooster
ice
charge
hj boots
spazer
supers

Oh, and one more place you can get stuck before morphball: the green brinstar room closest to pink brinstar coming from red brinstar, the pipe is only 2 blocks high.

edit: Is Kraid as the first boss with the items in the spoiler possible in realtime? I was playing at 49% speed, and that bastard was still really hard.

edit2: Am I supposed to have the gravity suit before I fight Draygon? Cause I don't, and I'd rather not end up stuck.

Kraid is supposed to be last. Ridley is first. The gravity suit is behind Draygon.

And I tried to walljump off that pipe numerous times, failed numerous times, and figured I was supposed to go another way. Anyway, disposed of Ridley, now I'm looking around for powerups before I head to Draygon. I got to him before (and got his stomach really, really red) but couldn't beat him without PBs to dispose of the balls he shoots.

btw,

is Bomb torizo gone completely? his room made me nervous, so I tried hard to do the skip, and thought I was successful. Then I savestated and headed back in, olnly to fins nothing exciting happening. Will the torizo wake up if I go find bombs, which are oddly absent from my item list?

All in all, I really like this hack.
