I'm guessing there was supposed to be a comma there.

avi is the container format (noun), mpeg-4 is the codec (adjective). No comma required. :-s

jesus christ i hate mpeg. mpeg-4 is also a container, and i thought that's what it might have been, but damn, mpeg-4 in avi that's not divx (unless this is compatible with divx, which it very well may be) is just nuts.

And also a family of standards which include both DivX and its alikes and AVC. Unambiguity ftl.

And that's why I'm not particualrly fond of commercial formats.  They try and slap their name on everything so people have to pay the royalties.

I just went over my route andrealized that  I'll have at least 20 extra PBs at the end of the game.  Now, instead of just letting these go to waste, I thought I could find some use for them.  That's when I remembered a post of Kejardon's where he mentioned that if a power bomb shield is active when you finish a shinespark, Samus doesn't stay stuck in the wall for as long, because there's too many shots onscreen to shoot out the Samus replicas.  So, I'll be using my extra power bombs to save a small amount of time off of several shinesparks.

I read your new route in page 3. It looks different than Scarlet route.

You get later X-ray scope and couple route changes.

Are you test that? Is it faster than Scarlet route?

I planned next try improve my 100% run again, how many seconds i can save time if i use your items route, just like i try get later X-ray scope with space jump?

I'm pretty sure that my route is a bit faster than Scarlet's.

First of all, xray takes about 20 seconds less to get with space jump than without. Also, as to my route change after the Wrecked Ship, falling down the escape shaft takes a lnog time, and Scarlet's route requires it to be done twice, not to mention the backtracking required for the Etecoon items.

New route.  Up through Wrecked Ship, my route is the same as hotarubi's test 100% run, except that I'll be collecting the landing site PBs on the way to the Wrecked Ship.  After WS, I'll get the rest of the green/pink Brinstar items, instead of going down through red Brinstar.  Same route as Hotarubi for Maridia and Lower Norfair, but I'll be going back up to the surface through red Brinstar, grabbing the PBs in the giant sidehopper room on the way.  Then, for the Gauntlet items, I'll shinespark up after entering the landing site, warp a shot around to hit the door, then either drop down to the floor and speedboost space jump through the first Gauntlet room, or go up to the platform up and to the left, short charge, and shinespark through the first Gauntlet room.

Wait a minute... Like Saturn did in his RBO preview 3? I think you're gonna have to use strutter walk and super short charge at the same time. It might be that I misunderstood that, but if it's the same spark then I have my own doubts on that...

No.  Different place.  You know how if you watch the demo when the game starts up, it eventually shows Samus doing a horizontal shinespark across the landing site to the Gauntlet entrance?  That's where I'm going to spark from.

I'm pretty sure that Red Scarlet's method was faster here (midair mockballing to keep speed echoes off of the top-right ledge from the power bomb room). That way, you can enter the Gauntlet at running speed and don't have the shinespark's ending delay. Also, it looks way cooler.

You're misunderstanding what I'm planning on doing.  My method will have me shinesparking (or speed boosted space jumping) into the Gauntlet and through the first room.

I have a question: Have you already started seriously working on this run and maybe even trying to record it? Your route and all seems very good so I'm pretty much interested in this. 100% SS WR run, you don't see that everyday.

I haven't yet gotten to the recording phase yet, and it might be a while before I do, as life has decided to severly limit the time I have for practicing each day.  Don't expect a run to come out of this until late summer at the absolute earliest.

I think I meant DURING mockballering. Maybe that's just ZM though, I'm not sure.

Okay, do I ever hate the fucking 100% SS runs.

I just spent a good 2 hours trying to get my first 100% SS run, got a time of 1:14. Everything went fine, and I was happy. After I started to write on FinMetroid, I checked the TV screen on the left, and it fucking said 99%. Evil or Very Mad I had some really suicidal thoughts after that.

Sorry about the language... I'm just so exhausted...  :(

Those are easier to forget about. There are at least 5 tanks like that, if not even more.

Well, BlueGlass and moozooh are right, it indeed was a missile tank. I remember when refilling all my ammo and energy at gunship that I had 10 missiles and 1 energy tank missing. I just think how can I be so god damn stupid that I pick up all items, but look, there's a missile tank in Gauntlet items right next to the one I just picked and I didn't get the one right next to it... Although I did jump in the middle of the crumble blocks.

Well, tough luck and dumb mind I must say. Maybe I'll finally get my 100% SS on weekend and remember to pick that one tank. :P My time wasn't even all that good, but you know, it did leave me watching the TV with my mouth open for a while.
