Hey Juliano, to add to that little sequence there, you can ghetto up the wall under the wave door in Ice Ruins West. Face the right corner and ghetto from below the incline in that corner seems to work best for me. Small trick though...

After all these years I've finally found someone who was interested in MP (more specifically destroying MP). So I've been teaching him the any% route. He's making great progress and incidentally has found what I believe is a new trick. We don't have a capture card but he does have a pretty nice HD camcorder. For more info read the youtube description. (click the youtube logo in the corner of the embedded video ;) )
The two methods are pretty similar. Stefan uses the rock for additional height, whereas I use a ghetto. In theory my way is probably faster by a second, but honestly, IMO it's almost like comparing apples to oranges. The controls are drastically different for each game.
I still think the trick we discovered is new, but only because nobody looked for it after the dash from the branch was discovered.
As an aside I have already used this trick during a couple of runs when I failed the trickier dash method. It's actually much easier than what I first thought. I have been able to do it on my first try every time. In the end the ghetto climb is great for casual runners but not much else.
I don't know if this has been suggested before, but could you use one of the crystallites in Phendrana to get boosted across, say, Ice Ruins West?
On a less useful note, if you kill the Wave Beam sheegoth before it gets very far into the room, it'll fall on the Wave Beam grate, and the pedestal will lift it up.
