can do it using the door that leads to the elvator to thardus. start in the little hall, roll into the room a little, and go from there. the camera will stay behind the door, and you'll get your instant unmorph.
that was the first place i tried but there's a bit of an overhang that kept messing me up. i'll try again there, thanks.
btw the bsj you used in geo core, did silent echo find that one too? (i was really shocked you would do something that seemed so ridiculous in just a test segment but i can do it first try pretty much every time heh )
not sure if silent echo found it as well, but i got it from kip, iirc. s. jack has a better way though, you can ghetto from that pipe right to the door. it's really hard though.

R-jump Ghetto was little bit easier than bsj your test run IMO. Both requires perfect heights your jump and it make that random.
I just think how about PAL-versio.? There is PB boulder front of door. I am only practice both tricks out my 100% save file i don,t never trying these tricks my speedruns.
I don't know if it's new, but I think I just found 2 dashes. It could save 1-2 seconds at most, so it's not really worthy but I haven't seen them on any videos, so I thought I should tell. I have nothing to record videos so I'll try my best to explain. First one : right after getting boostball, get on the top platform and lock on the creature on your bottom-right (I don't know the name of the creature, it's the same you used to dash to boostball), then dash to the left bending hard to the right (actually, I used a mix between right and forward). You should land a little further than you would by normally space-jumping as I saw in every run. The downside is that it's probably best that the creature is located at the right most side so the angle of the dash is correct. Second one : only useful in PAL. In Phendrana shorelines, after getting boostball and watching the ridley cutscene, it's possible to dash to the left side without scan-dash, though setting the dash could take too long to be a real timesaver. First, after the cutscene, move to the left border of the platform, then look back and lock the view to the bottom. The creature you want to lock is on the platform below. Jump backwards like you wanted to fall. When you see the creature, release and press L quickly to lock the creature, then use your second jump to get back to the top platform. The rest is just a dash to the left, bending it accordingly to get the closest you can to the door leading to the chapel of the elders.
You're right, I found it a little bit later as I was looking for a more convenient way to do what I explained in my last post. As for the first dash, it's not as useful as I thought, but i'ts still a cool thing to do.
btw there is a way on PAL to get the missile expansion in main plaza the way Sparky took it in his old test run. The idea is to use a beetle to "emulate" the scan dash. The beetle I chose is the one that pops up in second position from the left and the furthest from you. For those who haven't seen Sparky's video, ghetto jump on the lower branch of the dead tree on the right when you enter the room. Then lock the beetle while looking a little bit to the bottom. While locked, jump on the dead tree node, then dash to the left. Then again no video, sorry.

I know that. But save this time? It took seconds or two jump down, beetles appears and next you need jump back the tree and dash correct. +Trick is pretty hard, no insanely hard but still hard one.
US versio you can make that very quickly using scan dash and i don,t know save this still more than 2-3 seconds. As far as i know on PAL it is faster got M-expansion in half pipe.
I wish I could show it in a video. I think it saves time, nearly as much as NTSC. And it's not that hard. If you could do a video, I could comment to refine it.
Why current speedrunner don,t use important speedtrick in life groove? You can explode wall before you grap with X-ray visor. I timed it this save 4-seconds game time. Stefan don,t use that his 1.09 run, zoid don,t use that his 1.03 run and sparky don,t use that his test run.
All old runner in archive org use always that trick. Is there reason why peoples don,t use that today?
First i think it is seedling don,t appeared if you explode wall before pick up X-ray visor, but you not really need more PB refills in phazon mines. So my questions is why current speedrunners never use that?
because some time it doesn't work.. some times when I lay power bomb, and after like a millisecond and I pick up x ray, and when the x ray visor cuteness shows up, the wall is still there.. yet I can hear the sound of the power bomb.

I think this is no reason with this. Old speedrunners always use that. Speedrunners use lot hard tricks and most trick are random managed without dying, this is not that too random trick and this save whole 4 seconds. THis is lot time if you want improve WR runs.
i was having some trouble with that trick too. i think you have to lay the power bomb really early, to give the explosion time to register before you hit the x-ray visor... could be wrong though
I find that laying the pbomb nearly centered between xray and ledge while flying through the air works most of the time. My problem is i usually lay it too far away for the pbomb to even hit the wall i need it to. The needing the pb refill is always a big question. I never really figured out why sometimes laying the pbomb before xray makes the seedling sometimes appear and sometimes not appear. If you need the pbomb refill then the 4 seconds might save a lot of headaches later when trying to manipulate a pbomb refill somewhere else.
Yeah but 4 seconds is pretty much time if you want make new WR-run. But yeah this annoying and little random and caused headache later game. In phazon mines you can got three common (100%) PB refill before save and shadow pirates sometimes drop something PB refills.
I just little bit timed that. This looks there is no real difference. Probably i timed wrong who know. But i don,t see any difference about this. Sorry.
Even if there is difference so difference is so tiny. Less than 0,5 seconds or something.
Speedtricks collection music video by me. Enjoy Sorry about video is extra lenght. There is 20 seconds too much, but my moviemaker crashed so i need learn use new nero program make this video. This took me about 15 hours.
My virtual dub compress mode are crashed too, so i can only compress that using MPEG 1 codec. Trouble is solved now. Enjoy my video. I promise this looks pretty cool:
