Yeah i watching Sparky 100% run. His Ruined nursey M-expansion method was slower than my. I really surprised my new method is at least 5-7 seconds faster than Sparky 100% speedrun method.

Sparky don,t use that second invisible slant. I find that. This is new speedtrick and i am happy because i find new time saver. Read my previous post. If you want try that.

I think i have couple time saver idea with any-% run.

If somebody want try beat Zoid 1.03 run.

I think nobody don,t want use that, but it can save almost 10 seconds.

Is it faster if you jump into bomb slot in geo core in any-% run?

You lose almost 10 seconds game time when you rise up spinners with your boost ball. This my idea is crazy, but cool.

Second time saver what Zoid don,t use. Is it faster if you lay PB before you get X-ray visor.? My opinion it is bit faster  and it is pretty easy time saver too.

Wow it has been a while since i read this topic. I missed the whole thing about the ridley skip the fly by. I will always remember my brother trying and trying to do it so i said let me try and got it on my first try and after another 50 or so attempts never once got it again.

And as for why speed runners raise the first two spinners in geo core instead of doing it the 22% way. Well first of all yes you would save like ten seconds getting into the bomb slot, but then you fall down and have to climb back up, doing so you lose about say 8 to 13 seconds and on top of that it would take even longer to set up for the ghetto off the pipe sticking out to the door(has yet to be used in actual speed run yet). The ghetto off the pipe would save about 4-6 seconds i believe and maybe more compared to jumping clear across to the pegs sticking out and jumping up.

Now Master-88, i have always had a crazy idea that if i could get the jump after grappling like what is used to get into a secret world in phendrana then maybe i could use the grapple point in geo core to swing out and up as high as it takes you and use the jump to skip even touching the first two spinners altogether until you fell down after the bomb slot of course. The only problem is that i don't think you can get that kind of height even with a jump after the grapple and the fact that ive never actually taught myself how to even get the jump. But then some crazy thoughts become reality, like when i thought there had to be a way that space jump could be gotten faster, then sparky gets it under 14 seconds. I mean how do you take a 14.5 second segment and cut a second or more off of it. Whats next, someone scan dashing from the ship directly to the door to get space jump thus cutting off another 2-3 seconds. If you can get a little ghetto effect maybe it could be done. But these are just my random thoughts. Surely these have been tried to death but then tas has yet to hit prime and rip it to shreds like it has to mario 64.

Well you don't have to raise the spinner to get the plasma beam so i don't know why you would leave the room if you were going for speed, i mean leaving the room and coming back is the easier way but would also kill any chance of it being faster.

And as for the simplicity of the jump after the grapple i will have to go test my crazy idea tomorrow, still don't see it really working though.

it may be possible to bomb jump directly from the deactivated bomb slot to the pipe that extends from the wall, even if the platform isn't raised.

Root cave missile expansions is possible get W/O grapple beam. Wink
I don,t know is somebody already founded that, but mainpage don,t mention that.

This not real speedtrick, because you not need that with your speedrun, you can easily use grapple beam your 100% run.

This is pretty hard trick and very uncessary too. Your must be use one very high and long dash across that long gaps. This took me while, because your dash must be that perfect. I manage that trick twice today.

I think you can get expansions W/O X-ray visor too, but it is hard time guess all invisble platforms. Wink

You don't need to guess, just blindly shoot around the area where you think they are and if it hits something, that's the platform. You can also see the rain hitting the top of them sometimes, which can also show you where they are.

Shooting around area is very good idea guess all platforms locations and it is news to me.

I know that water rain thing, but it doesn,t work very well in root cave, because rain hitting onto the only one platform.

i did this too a long time ago but never mentione it. maybe you wont trust me but thats true and its its very esay to get the expension w/o x-ray. You can also get the one in the room where you need the plasma beam to enter in. Just do the SW, activate the room and go in.

Wow now someone with action replay has got to go try this out, cause if it is humanly possible then another 10 seconds or so could be cut off the final time. Someday im going to be forced to buy an action replay so i can try all these crazy things.

Hey i found a way to get to the missle expansion in thardus's room a little faster i think. I haven't seen it anywhere or in a speed run as far as i remember. It is even a pretty easy dash. I also was goofing around warming up for fingers for an attempt cause my left thumb is really slow and doesn't work well anymore, and i found a slightly quiker way through a room and then might have found a way into a secret world near the end of the second video. of course there is already a way into a secret world in this area but oh well.

Thardus room M-expansions is news to me. I am trying that dash manytimes. I have PAL versio i am trying Sheegoth dash. Some reason my distance is always too short. I was sure this never possible, but your video surprised me. Wink

Right now i am learned lot high dashes, but that looks very long dash. Too hard, but i probably go try that again.

There is two more method get Thardus room M-expasnion W/O grapple.

1: Easiest/longest is Sheegoth jump (in main page)
2: Crazy ghetto jumps. I manage that twice, but it took always forever. I never can manage that with speedrun.
+: US versio you have grapple beam you not need any specials trick here.

EDIT:
I just test again that Thardus room dash with my new dash skills. But no way. Stupid Sheegoth walking always wrong places, i dash wrong spots or something.

But hell yeah i am pretty sure this can working PAL versio as well, but it is very hard. Can you try Sheegoth dash next Craztad?

I've done that dash in thardus room a while ago but I had no idea it was new as I'm not really into 100% runs (although I bet other people have also done it before). Getting stuck near the wall in the super missile room was also known afaik. good job on the other 2 dashes though.

I'm going to try the dash with the shegoth later today if craztad doesn't beat me to it.

Edit: just tried it, and even though the angle given by the sheegoth sucks, it worked. You will have to do the dash pretty quickly after entering the room, i. e. before the sheegoth starts walking toward you. Also, you might want to press up/left after dashing in order to land on the right place.

Well ajax i believe pal has the scan point but i will let you in on a little secret just in case you didn't know
You can not scan dash in PAL unless you know some new dash method i haven't heard of.

That dash is very good recit0, if done right it looks a lot better too. I actually decided to upload a vid of all the new dashes in that segment. Of course i screwed most of the new ones up but you will see what i am trying to do.



And sparky have you tried this dash against flaaghra? It saves somewhere from 1 to 2 seconds compared to your flaaghra battle in your test run.
