I've been messing around on Metroid Prime for a while now, and I have a couple of 'safe' speed tricks to tell.
Artifact of Elder:
Once you first enter the room, look for some boxes CLOSEST to the wall with the breakable tower on the other side. Now look DIRECTLY at the wall and try to space jump on it. It's a small spot, but you should be able to stay on it. Now look in the initial direction where the destructable part of the tower is, and ghetto jump along side the barrier, space jump, and you should have enough room to fire a missle at the bottom of the tower causing it to fall, and immediately after you fire the missle, get into Morph Ball for faster pace to recieve the Artifact of Elder.
Skip Speed Booster in Super Missile Room
This is hard to explain as it is TOUGH to do. When you enter the room from the bottom floor, ignore all of the Space Pirates, dodging everything they try to hit you with. Get on the highest point until you have a giant gap along side the wall. Now this part is nothing but patience, as you need to lock onto a space pirate from when one stands at the door where you came from. Like he's right there in front of the entrance. Lock onto him, and perform a high scan dash for the first jump, then use your second jump to regularly jump onto the platform. When you make it, continue up and go save it, reload the file,(or perform a roll jump when you decide to clear the room) and use a scan dash to the other side so you don't hit the super missile platform with your head and fall all the way back down. You can also use a scan dash if you no NOT own the PC version of the game.
To get the Super Missle, you would have to ghetto jump off of the corner of the upper door leading out, and land up on the pipe thing, and space jump onto the platform with the Super Missle. Be careful though, as when you collect the pickup, you'll appear in the spot below the platform, and you'll have to make it back up again.
Not sure if I figured this out, but I do know I posted it here, LOL.
Something very strange just happened to me when picking up the artifact of Chozo (the one right after xray). There is a spinner that is at the bottom of a tall cylinder which is revealed after laying a bomb in some shallow water. I activated the spinner without using boost ball at all! My camera angle was a little funky when I tried to roll into the spinner, and I caught the edge of it and started to spin, much the way that the morph ball does when on uneven terrain. Those spins activated the spinner in about 1 second. I was half-in, half-out of the spinner - I never even went into it completely. Has this happened to anyone else before? (MPT version, btw)

I'm not sure if this would actually speed anything up, but would it be possible to reach the Ice Beam by wallcrawling through Tallon Overworld? Once you reach the elevator, there's only blue doors left between you an the Ice Beam.
i haven't done it, but with like 50 aether jumps you might be able to get behind the crash site door. if you can get ice beam right after morph ball this way should be much faster, but unfortunately there's the morphball tunnel in chozo ruins that requires bombs to get into, as well as the one in furnace.

they may be accessable by jumping and morphing, I know this is possible for other tunnels.
You might be able to enter the tunnels like T3 describes. I know you can get this stall effect on these tunnels just like how you stall in geo core. Do you need bombs to get through the furnace tunnel from the other way? I don't remember but I think not. Might try to fall into the tunnel in furnace from above somehow. I wish I could try this for you but my wii is not connected.
Well I tested both tunnels. The one in the save station before reflecting pool is looking unlikely. The morph ball tunnel is right under the ceiling so I don't think it's possible to morph and fall into it, though this probably needs more testing.
The one in furnace is possible, simply by rolling off a higher ledge.
I can confirm that you can get in the save station tunnel. You can stand on the lip and just morph in. Furnace works too but it's pointless because there's a ledge in the 2d part.
Do you really think this route would be faster though?
EDIT: Can't get from the tallon elevator to the save station yet though. I see what your problem is there
hi guys. sry for asking this question, but I'm about to lose my mind here. I've come to the point where I ought to do the wall crawl SB to sunchamber, but I can't figure out how to unmorph right. The crawl itself is not really a problem anymore, but the unmorph is a f***ing enigma! Pleas someone tell me how it works or redirect me somewhere it's being described how to do.
I'm assuming you are trying to unmorph warp to get back in bounds? If so, the map needs to be on the room that you are not trying to warp into. Then find a slanted surface and do the morph and unmorph. Sometimes pressing into the surface while unmorphing helps. Once inbounds, you have to move back to the room that the map thinks you are in. If you don't the game will crash once you try to load another room.

No it's not a secret world thing, just to get back up in the sun tower to get the artifact rigth after flaaghra.
i know what you mean. using "wall crawl" to describe it wasn't a good idea since "wallcrawling" is used to describe secret world traveling around here usually (that's the first time i see someone use wallcrawl for something in-bounds)
you need to follow the description as it is in the site. the unmorph at the end of the infinite bomb jump is tricky but the basic idea is to change the stick direction to right after the bomb moves you up and unmorph after that. you have to do it at the right time since doing it too fast willmake the camera be in a weird position.
