i grew up on those cartoons too. spongebob is consistently bizarre and entertaining and way better than any of them.

I mean I certainly watched some sponbebob but really never saw what you are talking about.  I think I am of completely the same mindset as Prime Hunter, love all those shows and completely agree that new nicktoons, spongebob and onward are just week.

oh yeah all the other nicktoons definitely suck -- just not spongebob. i actually didn't watch it as a kid or anything, started maybe in high school. to this day every time my extended family has a get-together my cousins and i sit around and watch spongebob. somehow it's always on.

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
Dungeons & Dragons was my favourite, followed by Thundercats.  There seemed to be so many more cartoons about back then.  What's weird is I recall loads that nobody else seems to remember.  Anybody remember things Like Jason and the Wheelers, or The Biskitts?

The first two of those I recognize, since my brother watched them. But I don't remember the other ones.

I've only met two people who watched Medabots on Fox Kids. That channel was generally rubbish, but it had Medabots and Monster Rancher, the latter of which I have very little memory of. All I remember of it is how awesome I thought it was.

I have to ask "Who?"
For I can't say that I do...
remember the Shmoo.

However a couple of my favorite shows that I didn't see mentioned here were Heathcliff and Inspector Gadget.  That was early 80's.  90's; (iirc, if not then it was the late 80's) Duck Tales, Rescue Rangers....  I know there's some more but I'm getting tired, can't retrieve the data from teh memry banx. Razz

Oh yeah.  Tail Spin...

I vaguely remember Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers (if that's what you're talking about) from my very early childhood. I used to watch Inspector Gadget when it was on CN, but it never had the longevity of, say Dexter's Lab, Powerpuff Girls or DBZ.

tbh...  I hardly remember Inspector Gadget, I just remember that I liked it. laugh new

Everyone knows their tastes change as they get older. <:-[

When talking about shows from our childhood...  I do like how a number of you mention old shows like Tom & Jerry, or Looney Toons, but those are, like, 40 or 50 years older than most of us.  So your parents could talk about how they might've liked Tom & Jerry and Looney Toons. Smile

I seen a vid for Shmoo on youtube.  It reminds me of Scooby-Doo.  That was another...  Ha.  I think Daphne was my first (t.v. character) crush. aiwebs_004

my parents have a bunch of bugs bunny and other looney tunes vhs tapes i used to watch a lot as a kid. they've always been popular.
i'm a little young for inspector gadget (only seen a few eps in my life), but i did watch a lot of animaniacs and pinky and the brain.

anything hanna-barbera did is just horrible.

It turned diamonds back into coal and ran it's monster trucks on them.

It was that awesome, and when I was 4, it was the highlight of my life.

I grew up on stuff like Dexter's Laboratory and Johnny Bravo back when I still watched CN. I also watched Toonami... a lot.

P.S tomatobob, finally, I can agree with you on something.

Completely agree with Batman and the animaniacs/pinky and the brain.  Have the latter two on DVD now, still good stuff.

Not related to TV but in thinking back to things I loved as a kid, if any of you other folks were big on Blink-182 check this:

Bluegrass covers of blink, I'd at least give the one I posted a shot if you were ever in to them.
