Phazon corrupts. It doesn't stop breeding. Heck MP managed to breed an army of Metroids from Phazon during your fight with it! Why wouldn't it breed X instead if it happened to be one!?

Just how obvious do Nintendo have to make it for ppl to believe that Metroid Prime is a Metroid. I mean look at the evidence.

1. It's name is Metroid Prime.
2. The game is Metroid Prime
3. It's surrounded by Metroids (were it an X it would have been devoured/destroyed/absorbed/killed)
4. It spawns Metroids - The X's predator
5. It has all the properties of Metroids i.e. transparent gelatinous skin, nervous system inside skin, levitation.

Nintendo couldn't have made it more obvious unless they slapped a sticker on it that says "Hi, I'm Metroid Prime. I'm a Metroid!"

The Metroid Prime is a Metroid that's been heavily corrupted by Phazon. It's not an X, else it would not have been able to breed Metroids. And if by some miraculous reason it did, they would have devoured it.

Energy? Yes. Ways to channel that energy into varied attacks? No. Think about it, in the first form MP throws all kinds of weird stuff at you. But in form 2, after it casts off the shell, it has exactly three attacks: uncontrolled shockwave of energy, producing more Phazon and Metroids, and ramming you.

MP2 could have been better. I remember my first fight with Mother Brain. Trashed the jar then I was like: "What? That it!? Ridley but a better fight... AAGGHGHHH SHES GROWING!!!!"

When your 12 fighting MB for the first time, it's kinda hard.
But MP2 can been beaten without getting hit! And then there's no escape run!!!

EVERY Metroid game MUST have an escape run after fighting the last boss! It's TRADITION!!!
