I'm doing a brief testrun in Super Metroid, recording with SNES9X 1.51, and I'm a few segments in. However, I've completed several copies of a particular segment and they consistently desync. The segment features a lot of pausing, and I think that might be causing the desyncs. Anybody know how to get around that? I've already lost one almost-flawless segment, and I'd really really like to not lose another.

(also, I tried using the feature where it exports the input directly into a Quicktime movie, but the resultant movie claims to be unplayable by Quicktime and VLC. any ideas what's going on there?)

iirc the older version of snes9x works better (1.43 i think), so you might want to try that. not sure if that's the problem, though.

Yeah, 1.51 has desync issues, download the latest 1.43 version from here instead.

Is ZSNES good for TAS runs as well?

i'm pretty sure there's a rerecording version of it but snes9x is a much better option.
