Fair enough. The pause screen glitch was just (re)discovered, so I didn't really remember it. However, without the speed booster it would still be pretty much impossible for a human.

The question is not why you need to skip them but why you would fight them if you don't need to. There is absolutely no reason to fight any boss except for kraid (which you need for varia unless you wan't to pause all the way through norfair.)

The reserve tank is the first *and* last item used to make Ridley die. It's very important.

Long story short, it's possible to spawn a block outside of the room that acts as a door to behind Mother Brain. And that's all that's necessary to make Zebes explode.

wait a minute... w/s/p for chainsaw beam, enough ammo for a crystal flash (???) and one beam shield, instant-pickup-trigger, or chainsaw-beam-amplifier, and a reserve tank for... *twitches*. I'd love to hear this explanation, Kej.

w/s/p for chainsaw beam, ammo for crystal flash(?), a power bomb to unlock the potential of the chainsaw beam, x-ray scope to make the power bomb last longer and the reserve tank must have something to do with the crystal flash

Start with energy in the reserve tank, outside of Ridley's room, with the x-ray scope equipped and a minimal amount of energy. Enter the room and get hurt while the screen is darkening. Use the x-ray scope immediately. The x-ray scope and reserves will trigger at the same time, wait until the reserves empty, then let the x-ray scope end. At this point you need to crystal flash - this part is tricky since Ridley can kill you nearly instantly during the crystal flash. When you survive, you simply need to lay another powerbomb. This will trigger the permanent powerbomb bubble, locking up Ridley's AI and simultaneously powering the chainsaw beam up indefinitely. A single shot of the chainsaw beam on Ridley will drain his health, you just have to wait long enough. At this point, you undo the powerbomb bubble by triggering your reserve tanks which should be refilled from the crystal flash (auto-mode, NOT manual mode). Then let Ridley grab you and the fight is over.
