This is my first SM hack named, Super Metroid Challenge!

This hack took almost 3 days to complete but I finally got it done! Very Happy
I'm actually making a full hack but I will discuss that on a later topic. Well, enjoy! grin new

The IPS patch is for use with a headerless Super Metroid (JU) rom.

I'm stuck at:

Check near Gravity suit, I accidently stumbled upon it.

That was quite a nice hack, Webber1900. Very Happy

Thoughts:

Once you got so far, item collection seemed a bit arbitrary, but this did end up making sense after you'd gone through a few doors.
Nice puzzles near the start.
Tunnels with single bomb-jumps aged fast.
Bomb timing is great, and would work wonders for a normal gravity game. aiwebs_011
LOL
extra_smug I love this hack. Very precise, well planned, and actually fun (unlike my escape hacks). Bomb jumping is actually fun, Dying is easier laugh new and the items are well placed. Make more please!  grin new And Welcome to the forums!
Almost happy
Is the hack finished when you have reached Screw Attack?

EDIT: Looked at last picture, I guess not.

A One Room hack. It's a MINI hack.  (I don't recall that being mentioned anywhere). Razz

I made it back above the ship...  I think I'll take a break for now.

This is interesting.
Hrm. Got the ball, bombs, and missiles, and now can't figure out the way forward. I can make it back across the four-tile crumble bridge, but that just reveals another super missile block. Bombed the heck out of everything and even tried bombing some of the spikes in case they're fake, but haven't found anything. Hint?

Try hbj'ing somewhere.  It's like sooo easy.

Edit:  Oops.  You said you got missiles.  Actually, I think the answer to your question is already answered in this thread.  I believe your next item will be...

Super Missiles.
OMG FLAN!!!!!!!
I got Morph, and that's as far as I went. I went down the right side, and couldn't go anywhere else. I can't do the wall morph jump into the hole. :( Man I suck
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I struggle with some of the tighter ones too.  50% speed is your friend, I reckon.

Okay, but where are they?
After opening the two red doors, I can't seem to access anything further. Bombing only reveals a super missile block (and another across the crumble bridge), and I can't find any secret passages. There's one fake block above the area just left of the red doors, but it doesn't lead to anything; I suspect it's actually the way out of the upper area.

Here is a hint...
It is very close to the crumble bridge...
Okay, finished the hack; listed time 23 minutes, item collection 120%. My thoughts: the bomb timing is neat, and you made some interesting puzzles using that, but the rest of the design was merely average. In particular,
the super missiles and wave beam are poorly hidden; I think in fact that it's possible to be stuck if you don't grab the wave beam when you can, though of course I was abusing savestates out the wazoo as soon as I saw the two-hit-kill spikes. The supers are bad largely because the spikes are two-hit kills, which means that any remotely sane player will be avoiding them. Hiding an item in them without any visual clue that the spikes are safe is not good design.

For the rest, mostly some of the corridors were repetitive. The escape was reasonably interesting, though. I actually died against Mother Brain because I was draining my health to make her only do the beam once, but I forgot I didn't have the Varia suit, and thus overdid it. Whoops.

:33 120%.  That was a fun yet not too evil escape sequence.  extra_smug

I made it with a little over 8 seconds to spare.  laugh new

Edit: shouldn't this be moved to the Hacks - Now Playing forum?

Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
I believe each creator is responsible for requesting its move in this thread.

Nothing'll happen until that's done.

This is a very fun hack, with alot of annoying, but fun, challenges.
I hated the new gravity changes, but I loved the bomb jumping.  So... I'm not sure if I like the gravity or not.
I got lost alot, and I had to do alot of backtracking.  Which is good I suppose.

If you are going to make a full hack, then I don't recommend changing the gravity as much as you did in this hack.
0:31, 120%.

I don't like any physics changes ever, but you had puzzles that fit them that you couldn't have done without them so it was pretty neat.  It seemed fairly fluid and straightforward except that I went past super missiles and wave beam for a long time.  It felt to me that the hardest tricks were just the mid-air morphs required before bombs and learning the bomb timing.  Mother brain was a surprise, I wasn't expecting an actual end.  I enjoyed the escape sequence, I had lots of time to spare with only a few mistakes getting out.

All in all a pretty good few room hack, would have been nice to have some graphics other than CRE mixed in there though.

Hmm.  This could be a good idea.  Start a topic here, and if it's good - it gets moved to the appropriate forum.  If it...  isn't up to snuff - then it can remain here (in this forum section) to be bumped out of the way.
Super Secret Area - Dead Ahead!
No, it doesn't have anything to do with what's good or not.  It's just a thread where hack creators can advertise the fact that they're finished, and are ready to be moved to the 'Now Playing' thread.
LOL.  laugh new  I was being a bit devious there.  Razz

ETA: and wishful thinking.
Time bomb set get out fast!
Great minihack, Webber!  You got excellent mileage out of the instant bomb-jumping.  It was definitely hard, but I only needed to check this thread once (for Wave Beam), so I'm pretty pleased.  I finished with 119%.

Couple of questions:
1. Is it possible to save the animals?  I didn't find them, but I didn't look all that hard.
2. Why did some of the later items have mismatched graphics?

And yes, this thread belongs in Now Playing, so I'll move it there.
Zeke: Regarding your second question, apparently this happens when you have too many items in the same room.
